I WILL be a Yummy Mummy's Diary

Hi all.

I'm hoping that by keeping a diary it might help keep me on track towards my weight loss goals.

I'm a 24 year old nurse who has a 9 month old daughter. I've always struggled with my weight, unfortunately not one of the lucky ones. Before my daughter I finally got down to my goal weight of 9st5 just by doing a calorie controlled diet (& running about doing 12 hr shifts in a ward). Low and behold I then got pregnant :) and whilst I would not swap it for the world, and I appreciate my body will never be the 'same' I'm hoping to gain a bit more confidence back in my body and be a positive role model for my daughter as she grows older and learns about food.

I've chosen slimming world because I really see it more as a healthy lifestyle with the bonus of weight loss and the fact that a lot of the foods I will eat are also suitable for my 9 month old who's just getting to grips with eating and enjoying exploring new tastes.

Due to time restrictions I'm not going to be able to go to a group but have joined online so hopefully along with this forum I'll have all the encouragement and resources I need to be successful.

Today has been the first day on slimming world and we (I've conned my oh in to it also) choose to start off doing red days. We did initially look at the extra easy and think eventually we will be swapping between them but just to get to grips with it, and because we like meat! We're going to do a week on red first.

Our breakfast looked a bit like this :

OH - shredded wheat with 150 ml semi skimmed ( HEA + HEB)

Me - Porridge with 150 ml semi skimmed (HEA + HEB)

about 11 am we then had a snack

OH - plum (SFF)

Me- banana (SFF)

for lunch we took advantage of the red day and indulged in the following

OH - Bacon and poached egg (FF) on 2x slices of weightwatcher malted Danish (5 SYNS)
+ Muller light yoghurt(FF) , grapes and kiwi (SFF)

ME - Bacon and poached egg (FF) on 2x slices of weightwatcher malted Danish (5 SYNS) + kiwi (SFF)

we plan on having a snack at about 3pm of an alpen light bar (1/2HEB)

For tea we are going to try and stick to the following

Lean Pork chops (visible fat removed) (FF) with Carrots, Broccoli and Leeks (SFF) and a stock cube used for gravy (? Unsure on this but read that they're FF)

For dessert will with try to stick with more fruit and possibly indulge in half a 2 fingered kit Kat (2.5 SYNS each)

If needed tonight we planned to snack on a second alpen bar (1/2HEB) and a muller light yoghurt if needed.

if I've made any errors in my counting I would welcome any corrections. Also any suggestions for the red days would be gratefully received.
