Jolly's Journey

Well I've done it, I've actually joined a slimming world group with my mum a couple of days ago. I have done SW before but red and green days. I managed to lose over 3st and this time I'm hoping for 4.5st!

I had a baby boy (Freddie) in May and weighed 17.5st. On Monday I weighed in at 14st 1lb, which is 7lb lighter than when I fell pregnant!! But it's still way too heavy for my petite 5' 2" frame.

So far so good. I'm really enjoying being on a "diet" and not feeling deprived. I love filling my plate with salad to go with my free food.

Today's menu:

Breakfast
2 x weetabix
Muller light
Blueberries

Snack
Rocky road hifi bar

Lunch
Half a pasta n sauce
Salad

Dinner
Ww Cumberland sausages
Onion gravy
Smash (tastes so much better than I remember?!)
Green beans
Broccoli

Pudding
Choc mousse
Chopped strawbs

Loved my days food!! So delicious!

I usually weigh myself everyday but I want something to look forward to so I'm avoiding the scales and want to wait until Monday.

I'm also seeing this as a long journey. I usually hope for massive losses each week and become despondent, but I'm just viewing this as a new way of eating with the added benefit of hopefully losing weight. So anything will be great because I know it will all add up in the end.

welcome Jolly81! I had a baby boy in june, you have done so well already losing the weight,im aiming for 5 stone this year eek!but its going well so far now ive finally got into the right mindset :) your food sounds lovely btw

Thanks tamkat!

Sounds like we're in a very similar boat! Have you started weaning yet? We're doing baby led and I feel like I'm making 6 meals a day even though they're just supposed to eat what we eat- I haven't been put of the kitchen hardly all week!! ;-)

Well done on your losses so far, they're fab!!

my son is only eating mashed rusks, banana apple rice & yogurts so anything sweet, just gags on anything with vegetables in ,little monkey ill keep persevering with it though.Hes my 3rd child and tbh he rules the roost & we all spoil him lol xx

Finding this week fairly easy so far. I'm desperate to weigh myself as I usually do it every morning but so far I've stayed well clear!

I was thinking about my goals and I've decided on the following (which I'm going to add to my signature):

1. Lose 2st by friend's hendo 4th April (I'll be in a hot tub in a swimming costume and the only one who's had a baby!!)

3. Win slimmer of the week

4. Lose 4st by Christmas

5. Treat myself with non food treat each 7lb

I've only come up with these so far because I'm trying to just take each week as it comes and not put too much pressure on myself. Obviously I'm constantly aiming for the next 7lb so I currently have 13st 8lb in my sight!!! I will tweak these goals as I go, but the 2st by April 4th is a big one!!

Freddie is keeping me on my toes, I think he's about to crawl as he's on his hands and knees and rocking lots. I wonder if I can count chasing after him as body magic?!

Great goals :) I have a holiday in april but my goals will be for june if my sons walking by then I want to be able to run round after him & my friends wedding 28th June, really would like to be size 14/16 & buy a new dress & just feel comfortable in the heat.I had to wear cardigans outside last summer in the heatwave whilst heavily pregnant & afterwards as I hate my upperarms & it really got to me :( My sister has been doing the squat challenge might aim to do that in feb omg! xx

Hi Jolly good luck with your goal, cute your little boy is about to crawl :) xxx

Ah I'm being so rubbish already at keeping a diary! I've never been great so I'm determined to try my hardest :)

So I weighed in on Monday at 13st 12lb which is a 3lb loss. I'm pretty happy with that, last time I tried extra easy I ate so much I put on 2.5lb!!! Hahah whoops! Well not this time. This time I have a reason to be as determined as I am, my son.

He's such an adorable monkey and is the picture of health, however when I was 10 days overdue he got into difficulty and stopped moving or responding in the womb. Luckily I trusted my instincts as I had to undergo a category 1 c section under general anaesthetic to get him out as quickly as possible. I never even went into labour. He had poo'd in me and had a couple of infections and hypothermia so we had to stay in hospital for 8 days, but he soon recovered and every single day I am utterly grateful that he's here.

I don't blame myself for what happened. I did for a while but not anymore. Having said that I will never know if my weight (17st 7lb @ 5'2") was a factor or contributed to him getting into trouble in there, so I don't ever want to let that happen again. We want to be pregnant again by August and I don't want to be pregnant, overweight and having to look after a one year old.

So that's my story. The reason I believe I was born Is now the reason I want to live as long as possible, my beautiful baby boy.

I've put photos of him on my book and written little comments where I'll see them to keep reminding me :)))

So back to the food- I've been so adventurous it's untrue and I'm absolutely loving my slow cooker. Tonight I made slow cooked gammon joint in diet coke and onions with a small sweet potato and salad. I've switched to red days as I prefer to be rigid with portion sizes of pasta and potatoes and I feel so satisfied it's untrue! I don't even feel the need to snack at all ;-))))

Really looking forward to my meeting, not necessarily to weigh in, but just for motivation :) x

My gammon and Freddie's first time on the swings <3

you are doing so well! great loss :)

Bringing this thread back to life!

I had my daughter on 12th Jan this year. She's 12 weeks tomorrow and an absolute beauty!

I suffered two miscarriages while I was trying to lose weight with sw last year and decided to come away from the plan completely. But now my healthy daughter is here I owe it to both my beauties to lose weight.

So I started back at group on Wednesday weighing 15st 0.5lb. I want to get down to 9st so have 6st to lose!!! It seems like a mountain at the moment as I know my weight loss will be super slow, but I usually give up and if I hadn't given up in the past I would be where I want to be now, so I'm going to stick with it through thick and thin!!!

My first week has been hit and miss and I've definitely gone over my syns with wine so next week I'm not buying any at all! It's way too tempting to have a glass now Mollie is sleeping through the night and I can't get back into bad habits like that!!!

X

Weigh in tomorrow and I'm feeling pretty good. After a bad start to the week and going well over in syns on wine I think I might have turned things around by following the SP plan since Sunday. I love meat and fish and think this plan might suit me, but I'm going to follow EE on Thursday Friday saturday and possibly Sunday and then SP on Monday Tuesday Wednesday. I used to like mixing up my days with red and green just because there's a bit of variety and it keeps me on my toes.

I've also joined the gym! I'm super nervous as it's 12 weeks since my c section and I'm super unfit, plus I look hideous in my gym gear but the only way to change that is to stick to the plan and do my body magic- plus, body magic = more stickers and we all love stickers!!! :)

Hi, Just been reading and thought id come and have a chat. Welcome back!
I had a miscarriage myself, in January and its given my rubbish eating habits again, However im back on slimming world.
Good luck with Weigh in tomorrow x Mine is Monday. Good on you for the exercise too, I need to get myself back into that too! Im waiting til next week though and just walking a lot this week. Im mainly doing extra easy days with some green days thrown in. I don't eat much meat so it suits me xx

Hey, sorry to hear you had a loss too it's awful to go through and definitely caused me to eat so I didn't have to think about it.

How have you found your losses with extra easy? X

Weigh day today- nervous and excited at the same time- I go with my friend and I really hope she does well too as she has quite a bit to lose (more than my 6 stone).

Had crust less quiche for lunch with salad which was really easy to make and have just put a joint of lamb in the slow cooker ready for when I come home later.

Eeeek!

Its my first week back but I have lost 1st before on extra easy in a short amount of time so know it works. Hope your weigh in is good! x
