Plump and Pregnant

So I have been to Slimming World before - twice in fact. Both times I left group because I felt that I just wasn't sticking to the plan as well as I should have been and that 80% of the people in group must have been doing the same... because they were all getting similar results. But everyone would make out as though they'd been 100% on plan all week and blamed the plan each time.

I found out in November that I am pregnant - now am 17 weeks (due in July) - and I feel like since early December my diet has just been shocking. I work at McDonalds too and so every break time I will have a meal...and often dessert...and sometimes in the morning I'll buy a sausage and egg muffin meal too. This started because I had terrible morning sickness from 6 weeks til 16 weeks and so first thing in the morning I had to have something bready before I could drink anything or start my day. Otherwise the nausea would strike, or even worse the sickness, and it would linger all day. I still feel as though I need this in a morning but if I don't I don't get sickness so much - just nausea.

I have been really missing Slimming World lately as I've started to feel like my bready diet is starting to make me feel ill and I know it is not good for the baby. So I am going to give Slimming World a go again - this time from home. I know the plan well and just might need to check up some of the syns. While I am currently over 17 stone (ouch) and have a BMI which makes me classed as Obese I don't have a weight loss goal. I don't intend to lose weight through my pregnancy, just eat healthier. And if I do find that my weight begins to go down dramatically then I think I'll just make some subtle changes (like healthy extras/syns) to ensure the baby is still getting everything it needs.

So I start from now - lunchtime. I am having some leftover spaghetti from tea last night which has chicken, peppers, sweetcorn, mushrooms, onion and passata in - and I've microwaved that with my healthy extra of cheese on top. Yum! I also have a pack of seafood sticks on standby in the fridge in case I get peckish before teatime. I tend to be bad and pick when I'm at home all day...

Wish me luck!!

Just had our tea - spaghetti with meatballs and sauce...yum! All syn free bar the piece of garlic bread on the side... not sure on the syn value though so I'll call it 5. Was going to have my B choice later tonight but I figure as I had beans on toast for breakfast I'll just say I started this morning and that was my B.

So far, so good! :)
