To scan bran or not to scan bran???

Morning all..... Just a quick question,I've been told at group about scan bran. Now I know some people are saying its awful stuff and not to touch it but I really am intrigued, has anyone out there had any positive results from it??? If it meant a good weight loss I think I would try it! However im trying to lose lb's not £'s.... And can't really afford to waste the money if its not going to make a difference, any advice would be greatfully received

Thanks in advance

Oh I eat it all the time. It's an acquired taste admittedly but I think people over-react. There is a scan bran challenge where you eat 5 pieces a day as your HEXB for a week and you should, theoretically lose at least 2lb. A few of us tried it last year and it does work but it has some side effects.
1- you MUST increase your fluid intake otherwise you will find it slows you down
2- if you do increase your fluid intake you will find that everything "speeds up"!!

its basically pretty much pure raw fibre and I find that having it as my hex b with plenty of liquid acts to cleanse my system (sorry if tmi!!) and will help with a decent loss. I have it either ryvita style topped with laughing cow light and ham or soaked and made into a pizza base or a cake. There are lots of recipes on here.

Id say give it a go but either build up to 5 slices a day or be prepared to be close to the loo at all times!

Thankyou so much I will definitely be buying some at my next meeting! I seem to be having a plateau in my weightloss at the moment so maybe this will be the kick start I need!!! I would love to give the pizza ago, don't suppose you have the recipe xx

Sure. I made this last night for dinner.

Soak 5 scan bran in boiling water for about 30 seconds to a minute. Drain and mix with a fork and one egg. Shape the resultant mix into a round shape on a baking tray covered in baking paper. Pop it into the oven until its semi set (it won't go fully crispy unless you make it really thin but then it tends to break up). Take it out and top it with whatever you want. I normally do chopped tomatos on the bottom (or baked beans undid last night as I didn't have any chopped tomato and it was actually yummy) then red onion, mushrooms, peppers, ham and my hex a of 30g cheddar. Freshly ground pepper and pop back into the oven until cooked to your liking. :) it takes two spatulas to lift it off without breaking and may not be as pretty as a standard pizza but it does taste very nice and really scratches that pizza itch if you know what I mean!! I had a look to see if I had a picture from previous but I don't. Ill have a look through my previous posts and post a link if I can find one!

That actually looks really nice... I will be making myself one of these on Wednesday! I will let you know how it turns out and if I have a good loss next week!
Thankyou xx
