hello everyone. I did slimming world about three years ago and achieved my goal for my wedding and was elated. I have however slipped into marroed lige since then and have put back in what I lost and more. I did join weighcare last year and lost a bit but I did not enjoy the diet I found it far too restrictive. I did intend to hop back on the diet train early this year but unfortunately my son became very ill in december and was diagnosed with cancer. so dieting seems to have been pushed back to the back of my mind. I have two weddings to attend this year and various other celebrations to go to and a wedding in portugal next year and at the moment I feel as huge as an elephant. I live in Leicestershire and dann lives in newcastle so I have to go on a 9 hour round trip every saturday to visit him. I was going to start classes last monday but have had to go to newcastle for the week to care gor him. so monday is the day I start back at class. I remember the basics but need to freshen up my memory on it. I have done an online shop for fruit vegetables lean meats and fat free yoghurt quark etc so that I can start my diet monday night straight after class. I would like to lose a stone by the beginning of march but as I only lost small amounts each week when dieting I am not sure that I will. but with help and support I hope I will. please help me as I am going to struggle but all set for the off on Monday xx

I just realised how silly I am, am I the first to post ? Ah welcome to diary land hun :p . I will sub and read your diary with great interest. Well done for starting your weightloss journey, wish you all the luck hun, you will do fab ! :D There is so much support here on mins, you will lose with flying colours and hit target. Thank you Kay. I will look out for your diary as I need all the tips I can, I have been scanning through pages to get ideas. I am going to struggle on train journeys and at the hospital all days Saturday so any good ideas for interesting pack up would be good as I get bored easily and if I am not prepared will end up filling up on train sandwiches or burgers or cakes. I also need quick recipes for when I get home late Saturday night. Any help very much appreciated. Pootle comes from the Flumps a friend nicknamed me it as said I sounded like her, but we later found out it was a boy. Xx

Hey Pootle :), do you have the SW starter books ? In there, there is a fab page on free food and shopping lists that will help you lose weight on the plan :), like essential `go to ' store cupboard ingredients to stock up on .

well got to ring the hospital in a minute to see if thry have a bed for dann to go in for his next cycle of chemo. may get plenty of time to make notes and find recipes on here if I can get wifi signal as sometimes at the hospital its difficult. so want to get going on my diet. my friend went back to weighcare yesterday and she is about a stone less than me now so got to get motivated and get started. xx

Hello pootle, found you :) sounds like you've got it tough with what your son's going through. How old is he? What about salads, pasta, rice, cous cous, soup in a flask for the train journeys? Preparation is definitely key on this diet.

well been sat at the hospital since yesterday morning. so been sat with my note pad making lists of things I need to buy and recipes I can make and started a menu plan to start tuesday morning after monday nights weigh in. cannot wait to start. sad isnt it lol xx

Morning Pootle :) , it's good you've got a head start from your group and started looking up recipes. Planning meals ahead is a great way of staying in control. I love food and love looking up recipes and finding healthier ways of making them. I've done so many different diets in the past but was always left feeling hungry, SW is the only plan where I'm full and losing weight, its a win win situation :p . Once you go to group on Monday your Consultant will have lots of Slimming World recipe books which you can buy, they all have fab recipes in them. I don't blame you for being excited to start SW, I have done SW for over a year now and still get excited over what meals I'm going to be eating the following week :D . Hope your son's feeling better hun, have a lovely day :) .

HI Kay. been a very busy day, went to class, had my weigh in, not quite as bad as i anticipated, but still 2 1/2 stone to lose, but totally motivated, planned tomorrows meals, and bought a few bits for them, going to do a big shop tomorrow night as not had the chance to do one yet, but extremely ready and wanting to lose all this weight, so i go forward from this day onwards. Hope you are well and everything going to plan, not had chance to read much on here the last few days but hoping to catch up on here tomorrow night if shopping and cooking doesnt take all night xx

Hey Pootle :), sorry was looking for you on my diary because you said you might pop by, so came here looking for you :p . 2.5 stone is very achievable hun, I know you can do this . It's great that you are so motivated about the plan and have your shopping and meals planned already, that's a great start !
