Sw 2nd time around. Miataiblues weightloss diary

So after losing 3.5st a few years ago on sw, just half a stone from target, I had to stop going to group and figured I'd still be able to do it at home. Apparently not! Lol. Although I still cooked the majority of our main meals the sw way, I completely stopped counting syns, stopped eating breakfast and lunch most days and restarted the late night snacking. After piling all of the weight back on, plus more, I'm now more than ready to get back on track. I've had my 1st weigh-in and lost 6.5lbs. 6st 1lb to go.

My main reasons for losing weight are

1. My kids. I want to be able to run around with my kids for more than 2 minutes without feeling like I want to pass out lol. Also I want to take them swimming instead of making excuses as to why their dad, my hubby, has to take them.

2. Myself. I want to feel good about myself. I want to walk in a shop and know that they have clothes in my size without having to check. I want to be healthy.

So today started off well with scrambled eggs on toast (hea/heb) brown sauce (1 syn) and an apple for breakfast but then at lunchtime things went a bit downhill. I HAD planned the whole weeks menu and was supposed to be having potato salad but didn't think about my morrisons shop (with all the ingredients) not being due until 3-4pm. After making the kids a sandwich and hunting through the cupboards/fridge for something that took my fancy, I settled on a couple of celery sticks :-/ I am so annoyed with myself. I've been so good over the past week at breaking bad habits and making sure I eat 3 meals a day. I did have a NuMe blueberry yogurt when my shopping finally arrived though and then chicken chow mein (3 syns) followed by an orange for tea so back on track now. Might have to send the hubby for something to bump my syns up a bit as I find I lose better if I keep my syns around 10-12 per day xx

And a pack of revels (8.5 syns) makes 12.5 syns for the day :) xx

Ended up sticking with 4 syns yesterday as the pack of revels that the hubby was supposed to be buying turned into a kit kat chunky which would have taken me over my syns :-/ Apparently he 'heard me say something about kit kats so thought it would be ok' lol and as I wasn't actually hungry, I just fancied something sweet, I decided to just leave it and have it tonight when the kids have 'staying up night' (Friday snacks and films).

Today we've had 'magic porridge' for the first time (heb). I wasn't impressed with it straight from the fridge but 30 seconds in the microwave and it was delicious! Lunch is jacket and beans and bolognese is in the slow cooker for tea so I can use my syns on the kit kat chunky (12.5 syns). Coffee and sweetner throughout the day will use my milk (hea) xx

Very, VERY proud of myself today. Served up the bolognese only for the hubby to drop our oldest daughters plate on the floor! I gave her mine and instead of grabbing something which would probably have used my syns like I usually would, I made a quick veggie bolognese and had that with spaghetti. Also while everyone else had their treat night, I stuck to my kit kat chunky, NuMe yogurt and an apple. Go me! Lol xx

Not a bad day although I skipped lunch :-( Breakfast was weetabix (heb) with milk (hea) topped with 1tsp honey (1 syn) and sliced banana. Had Sunday lunch a day early which was pork loin topped with wholegrain mustard (2tsp = 1 syn) broccoli, peas, sweetcorn and roasties with sw onion gravy. An apple and kinder chocolate bar (6 syns) xx

Total for the day 8 syns

Hi, how old are your kids? Im about 10 weeks into my sw.journey but taking the scenic route 3.5 away from my first stone ha. Ive got 2 kids 4&2 and thats one of my main.reasons for losing weight also. I want to be an active mum not boring mum.

I've decided to post pictures with my diary as I've heard it can be great to look back on if I need motivation in future. I'm hoping I don't lose motivation but I'm not taking any chances lol.

Had a really good day today. Organisation is definitely the key! Breakfast was toast (heb) with blackcurrant jam (4tsps = 2 syns) and a nectarine. Lunch was the long awaited potato salad although I added a bit too much mustard powder so only 2 of the 3 kids ate it lol and chilli and rice for tea. I used the rest of my syns on a caramel wafer bar (4 syns) and a packet of frazzles (5.5 syns) and coffees with milk (hea) and sweetner throughout the day xx

Total syns for the day = 11.5

I made a stupid mistake this morning. I snaffled a pack I the hubby's belvita yogurt biscuits for breakfast without checking syn value first as I assumed they were a healthy option and it was nearly lunchtime and (having my cba head on) I just wanted something quick. Well let's just say I won't be having them again at 5.5 syns PER BISCUIT!! So 11 syns before lunch ? not good lol.

Lunch was tuna with extra light mayo (2tbsp = 1 syn), spring onion and lettuce sandwich (heb) and tea was spaghetti carbonara with cucumber and cherry tomatoes followed by ff yogurt and a clementine. I've got to be honest, I'm missing my nighttime chocolate fix :-( .

Weigh day tomorrow and as usual, although I haven't had a bad week, I'm nervous XfingerscrossedX xx

Well I'm feeling a bit down after today's weigh-in. I maintained :-( and I'm not sure why? I don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong or not doing that I should be doing? I don't mind maintaining/gaining when I know that I've had something off plan but the not having a reason bugs the hell out of me lol.

Today I tried the 'magic porridge' (heb) again using a recipe that I found which says to soak the oats in 100ml of water overnight and then mix with the yogurt in the morning. The result? Yogurt and oat soup :-/ lol. Let's just say it was edible but I doubt I'll be making it that way again. I may experiment with less water but I'm not sure.

Since, thanks to my fab hubby, I slept til lunchtime!! :-o I had my breakfast for lunch and tea, after weigh-in, was steak, chips and loads of salad (ex light mayo 2 tbsp = 1 syn). We had it with fried onions (using frylight of course lol) and a mustard sauce (1.5 syns between us both).

My treat was going to be some galaxy caramel but as it's a big bar and I'm throwing a pity party for myself lol, I don't know if I trust myself not to eat the whole lot, all 32 syns of it! Then I really would be annoyed with myself. So I had 2 caramel wafer bars instead (4 syns each) and I'm very glad I did xx

Total syns for the day = 10

A maintain id better than a gain but yeah a bit of a bummer when you cant figure out why. Have you been writing down a diary? And have you been drinking enough? I know when i sts its usually cause i mindlessly pick but dont record it fully ;)
oh how did you resist the bar on my weigh day i always have a treat so i can be good the rest of the week.

Have a good day

Thanks Sarah, I've got the lifeline online app on my phone so I fill my food diary in on there as soon as I eat anything (bit obsessed tbh lol). Thinking about it though, I don't really drink much. I usually have coffee and as I have half a cow in each cup, I'm only having 2-3 coffees per day before my allowance is used as I'm using 1% milk this week whereas last week I was using unsweetened soya milk so could have more and plus I had fizzy pop last week aswell. I've got a 1lt bottle that I'm going to fill with water everyday and make sure I drink it and I've asked the hubby to get some almond milk from work for me to try so I can have a whole 950mls per day! Hopefully it tastes ok lol. I WILL get my half stone next week.

I haven't got a clue how I resisted the chocolate. I must have more willpower then I thought! I'm so glad I did though, I would have really regretted it. Like you said, a maintain is better than a gain and if I would have gained next week from eating it I would have been even more annoyed with myself xx

I'm feeling nostalgic today lol. I was having a clear out and found my old camcorder and a few cassettes of the kids so we watched them with the little gremlins (who found them hilarious lol). Our 11yo daughters 2nd birthday party, our 7yo daughters first Christmas, our 5yo sons first bath! Time flies so quickly so I really need to get my backside in gear to change from fat mum to fit mum before they're not kids anymore.

So, today I had 2 weetabix (heb) with milk (hea) 1tsp honey (1 syn) and 25g of sultanas (3.5 syns) for breakfast. Lunch was butternut squash soup with an apple and sw moussaka (2 syns) and salad with 1 tbsp ex light mayo (0.5 syns). A ff yogurt and yet another apple lol.

We've got a taster night next week so I've been looking for recipes. I came across one for sw 'hobnobs' so I decided to make some for us to try and, although I messed them up a bit, they tasted nice. As I'd already used my heb I synned them at 1.5 syns each (6.5 syns for 35g oats and it made 5 mini biscuits). I had to try one for research purposes of course ;-p (1.5 syns) xx

Total syns for the day = 8.5 (It would have been 7 syns if the hubby had bought ff yogurt from work for the moussaka instead of low fat. It is most definitely NOT the same thing! Pfft sw newbie lmao :-D )

Well what a muppet I am lol. Just realised that the yogurts I've been having aren't actually the syn free ones and are in fact 1.5 syns each :-( . I don't think that's why I maintained last week as would still have been within 15 syns every day apart from one when I would have had 15.5 syns. I've got more coming on my online shop today too, although the ones that are online aren't the syn free ones. Looks like the hubby will be bringing some home from work every week lol xx

Aw i love looking back at photos and videos of when they were babies my only regret is im not in any and still wont have photos done so thats another boot up the arse to do.something lol.

Food sounds.lovely. Bummer about the yogurts but its a learning curve.

Whens your next weighin? Mines tomo wish me luck ill need it lol ;) .

I would love a professional family photo done when I reach target as we haven't got one. Seeing the tape of my daughters birthday 9 years ago made me more determined than ever lol. I wasn't a twig but I was probably size 12ish and my daughter asked who it was :-( she didn't even recognise me. When I told her it was me she said 'really!! Wow you look so......erm......different to now' code for 'OMG did you eat an elephant?' Lmao :-D .

Loads of luck for tomorrow! I'm sure you'll be fine. I get weighed on Tuesday, it's my last one before we go on holiday. We don't go until the Tuesday after but weigh-in isn't until 7pm and our train is half 8 that morning. I'm planning on weighing myself at home after group next week so I can see if there's any difference between sw scales and mine so I can still give myself an unofficial weigh-in the night before we go.

Right, onto today's menu. Breakfast was one of my (obviously no so fat free) ff yogurts (1.5 syns) lol with a doughnut peach. Tbh I'd rather have a normal round peach as these were tiny lol but the gremlins wanted them because, despite what I said, they were sure they'd taste like doughnuts lmao. Lunch was a tuna mayo and cucumber sandwich (heb + 1syn) and 3 gherkins. We had a (non)fry up for tea (2 sausages = 2 syns) with brown sauce (2tbsp = 1 syn). Snack were apple, clementine and caramel wafer bar (4 syns) xx

Total syns for the day = 9.5
