5 st 4lb to go...!

Hello!
I began my (final) Slimming World journey today.
My first time was in 2005, when I lost 2st 10lb in just under a year. I didn't reach my goal but was happy at a 9st 12lb size 12. I kept it off until I started a stressful job in 2008...
Since then, I've yoyoed a lot - my heaviest being 15st. Every time I went up a stone bracket I flirted with meal replacement diets (which are very effective but difficult to maintain and don't 'feel' very healthy), and revisited slimming world numerous times only to give up after the first weigh in.
I'm now really motivated to give 100%. I've put my final target as 9st because that's the maximum weight I can be to be a 'healthy' weight according to BMI, so I have 5 stone 4lb to lose. I can do this, right?! :D

You sure can!!

I joined group again on Wednesday & I am still faffing about & not eating properly.

Tomorrow I will be doing my shopping & making some nice chilli for dinner/lunches.

How you getting on??

I need to lose 6st - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!

Seems like loads but I am gonna do it in 12 steps, 7lbs a step.

Breaking it down for me makes it more achievable.

Hi Dolly! How are you getting on?

I've been following slimming world for 5 days now, looking forward to weighing on Wednesday. Trying so hard to not weigh myself all the time, but those scales are so tempting in the bathroom! May have to get hubby to hide them ;)
I've also been prescribed Orlistat by doc, started taking them Friday. Not expecting them to do anything because Slimming World is a low-fat diet anyway, but it is definitely keeping me on the straight and narrow because I can't eat chocolate, crisps or cake etc without getting nasty side-effects. However, I did go a bit overboard with marshmallows tonight because they are low in fat, BUT high in sugar; hopefully it's not done too much damage.
I've also been cycling twice over the weekend and am going to the gym tomorrow. Fingers crossed I have another 2 good days before weigh in :D

Wow well done you.

I only really started the plan yesterday & currently not much exercise is happening in my life which I know I defo need to change.

Was thinking of getting a bike actually but I am moving house next week so it will all just have to wait till that's all done & dusted.

I had a not too bad day yesterday trying to use up most of the food in the cupboards so its mostly pasta n sauce & savoury rice with vegetables for dinner this week.

Saves me on my shopping bill too cos I had a load in there.

Will start cooking proper meals once I am settled in my new place.

Hope you have a good day hon.

So far today, I've had Blueberry wheats for breakfast, and left over lasagne from last night's dinner (it absolutely KILLED me to only put cheese on my husband and daughter's portions - I love cheese!). Trying to look for inspiration for dinner now...

Good for you its going well!

Oh I know I have a super skinny husband who can eat like a horse - kills me when I have to put his dinner out next to mine.

It's such a nice change to be on a diet but feel full!

I'm trying to train myself to eat only 3 times a day and stop snacking, because I eat quite healthily at meal times (maybe too many carbs at times) but I snack a ridiculous amount. To be very honest with myself for the first time, I would generally eat at least one slice of cake and a chocolate bar every day, if not more. I didn't realise how much I ate between meals until I've stopped myself doing so. Going for coffee with friends would mean cake, shopping trip would mean at least one or two chocolate bars, if I bought a ready made sandwich at lunch, I'd have crisps... I feel disgusting just thinking about it!

Today I've had blueberry wheats for breakfast, just ate pasta 'n sauce with left over chicken and ratatouille from yesterday, with a cherry coke zero for lunch. I'm stuffed!

So first weigh in tomorrow, I'm so nervous. Reeeally hoping for 2.5lb.

Don't be disgusted hon, I would be the same or even worse.

I can munch my way through some amount of food!

If I have a day off plan which I am goin to try & stop doin completely then I try to stuff as much bad food in as humanly possible then end up feeling ill.

We are on the way to becoming healthy & its gonna be hard work & might take a while but we will do it.

Good luck at WI!

I feel very positive :D thanks x
It's nice to see hard work paying off (granted it's my first week and I have an awful long way to go).
Hoping for 2lb next week. Fingers crossed!

I think as long as we accept in our minds that it is a long road then that is going to make it easier.

We didnt get here overnight & we cant reverse it overnight either.

In it for the long haul.

Well I've had a good week so far! Went for dinner at MiL's house on weekend and she very kindly cooked all my food without butter! And it was still very tasty. I did have normal salad dressing though because there was no other option. And she made fruit salad for dessert! Being very good this bank holiday Monday too, had fruit for breakfast and just had a SW fry up for lunch :) one more day after this to be as good as I can for another loss on Wednesday.
After all the other diets I've done, I forgot how easy SW is psychologically. I can eat food! Real food. It's my husbands birthday on the weekend and I offered to take him out for dinner. He was worried if not be able to eat anything because of my 'diet', but SW really does let you plan around anything. I've just got to knows syns before I go!
I hope I do lose 2lb on Wednesday now, or I'll have to eat my words!

1.5 off this week :)
I am pleased, but considering how good I've been I'd really have loved 2lb. Maybe with some exercise this week I can lose 2.5 to make up for it ;)

Had an ok week so far - but went out for food today, carvery :/ avoided buttery mash, roast potatoes and baileys cheesecake so quite proud of myself really! Also avoiding hubby's birthdays cake so doing ok.
Meal planned for the week ahead, so am hoping for another 1.5lb off at least on Wednesday. Fingers crossed!

Welcome! Well done for committing back to the plan, I find it particularly difficult to get back on the wagon if I've had an indulgent weekend. Good on you. I did an online shop last night after meal planning for the next 5 days so I've got no excuses! Have a great week x

That's brilliant im sure you will have a great week :) im going to look over old SW mags and the likes when I am home to motivate me more! x

1.5lb off this week! I'm happy, considering my first 3 weigh in's were in the morning, but now I've gone back to work I'm weighing at 5.30. Am usually 2lb heavier in afternoon than in morning so was actually worried about STS or even a small gain. So, yeah... happpy!
