Here is hoping a food diary will keep me on track for my weight loss journey with Slimmingworld. I will be doing this from home so will not have any access to books or syn lists apart from those on this website. Please feel free to correct me if some of my values may be wrong as I would appreciate all the extra knowledge and help that is offered :)

So week 1, i had a 1.8lbs loss which I am not so disappointed by as I had a full on food weekend with the family, however during the weekdays I made sure that I stuck to my food plan for the week. I was quite skeptical of this lifestyle working for me but I absolutely love it! I try and make sure I have more superfree foods on my plate than free foods. I will be updating my losses or gains every Tuesday from home weigh-ins.
 
So after yesterdays weigh in I decided I would have to take this week more seriously and not think about it too much. I have all my meals planned which is good. Wanted to make it to the gym yesterday but bailed last minute.

Meals-16/09/14

Breakfast: 100ml semi skimmed milk, hand full of green grapes and a banana
Lunch: Microwaved jacket potato, baked beans, 30g light mature cheese, large salad made up of cucumber and lettuce
Snack: after work I came home and was starving! I had some indian puffed wheat snacks which I shouldn't have done but didn't go over board with it (quite a few syns!)
Dinner: SW syn free salt and chilli chips, baked salmon with lemon slices, fresh rosemary sprigs & lurpak slightly salted spreadable light butter (1.5syns) Large dollop of ketchup (1.5syns)
After dinner treat: Celebrations x1 Milky Way & x1 Mars (4syns)

I am a little confused as I did have 100ml semi-skimmed milk with my breakfast but then also had 30g of light cheese with my lunch, would I have to add on extra syns? Or can you mix and match measurements of your daily Hex A allowance?
If there are any things which I have syned wrong I would appreciate any feedback :eek:

Breakfast: banana, black coffee 2 sugars (2syns)
Lunch:
salad made up of cucumber and lettuce, boiled egg, x2 Tesco Healthy Living British Cumberland Sausages (2syns I believe), can of full fat coke (7syns)
Dinner:
pasta, baked beans, 45g light grated cheddar (Hex A), x2 Tesco Healthy Living British Cumberland Sausages (2syns I believe)
After dinner treat:
x1 quarter Cadbury Dairy Milk LU (2.5syns)

Exercise:
Group boxing class-15mins individual time

Weight this morning: 76.6kg (12st 06lbs)
 
Meals-18/09/14

Breakfast: black coffee 2 sugars (2syns)
Lunch:
Microwaved jacket potato, baked beans, 45g light mature cheese (Hex A) (failed to prep superfree last night so will include in dinner a double portion instead)
Dinner:
pasta,
homemade cajun chicken serves 2 (chicken,4tbsp sainsburys be good to yourself normandy fromage frais 0.01% fat= 60g 1.5syns, x2 laughing cow light cheese triangles 3syns,cajun spice, red onion, 200ml chicken stock, x1 clove of garlic, salt and pepper to taste), side of steamed veg + corn on cob to make up for this afternoon!
After dinner treat:
x1 quarter Cadbury Dairy Milk LU (2.5syns)

Exercise:
N/A

Weight this morning: 76.3kg (12st 01.5lbs)

Lunch:
left over plain spaghetti from last nights meal, 3 egg onion omelette, lettuce, cucumber (a big mish-mash but tasted lovely! and all free/superfree!)
Dinner:
I am out on a date night with the hubby today, we are going to Cafe Rouge and then for some drinks I may as well just admit I will have a gain now! (A MILLION SYNS):break_diet:

Weight this morning: 76.1kg (11st 9.8lbs)
100% know this will increase at tomorrows weigh in...so much for reaching the 11s!:wave_cry:

Meals-20/09/14

Bruch: x1 sausage (1syn),baked beans,45g light mature cheese (Hex A), x1 toast (Hex B)
Dinner:
we spent 5 and a half hours at our photographer/videographers place trying to put the music together for our wedding discs so were ravenous when we finished at his house! My hubbys parents also just got back today from their 2 week cruise so decided we would all have a takeaway. Chinese food!

Exercise:
475 cals elliptical trainer
20mins intense boxing session

Meals-21/09/14

Developed a migraine from the Chinese food as soon as I ate it, we had some deep-fried prawns. Been suffering with migraines on and off for the past 4 weeks. Went to the GP last week and was given some triptans, however they haven't worked and I refuse to keep putting these nonsense tablets in my system if they don't help. Instead I need to focus on the triggers more i.e. deep-fried food. Good really helps the waistline too. Went to bed with a migraine and woke up with it too have another GP appointment on Tuesday will have to see what can be done.

Breakfast: 6 ritz crackers (6syns), water & medicine
Lunch: left over rice from last nights takeaway
Dinner:
Had a good sleep and decided I needed to focus back on plan. Made Rick Stein's version of spaghetti carbonara (brilliant as I do not need to go over my one allowance of Hex A), 45g light mature cheese (0.33 Hex A per serving), added onion & mushrooms for superfree

Exercise:

Pan Fried Sea bass with Ginger Soy Sauce (1syn), plain rice, vegetables in soy sauce, garlic and ginger
After dinner treat: Muller Light after Dinner Mint Yoghurt (frozen) +Milk Way Magic Stars Minis 12g bag (3.5syns) = CHEAT ICE CREAM!!

banana & black coffee (cutting out the sugar to see if it tastes ok, and it does! saved myself 2 syns) :D
Lunch:
pre marinated king prawns (2syns), superfree lettuce, raddish, cucumber, grapes, Cadbury Mini Animals (5syns)
Dinner:
Aubergine & quorn lasagne(x1 Hex A & 1syn per serving)

have decided to change weigh in day to a Friday morning so that I can make up for it during the week, if I have a rubbish weekend as the pattern seems to show
 
So haven't posted for 6 days! But I have been on track and back down to 76.0kg exactly!

Breakfast:
banana & black coffee with two sugars (2 syns)
Lunch:
leftover SW Thai Green Chicken Curry and sticky rice (lots of free & superfree...spring onions, lemongrass, mangetout & baby corn) x1 Hex A & 3syns per serving
Dinner:
Reduced fat Pork Medallion and Vegetable Pasta Bake (will syn the cheese as had my Hex A for today at lunch)

Exercise:
N/A

Weight this morning:
76kg (11st 9.6lbs)

 
Meals-02/10/14

Breakfast:
black coffee with two sugars (2 syns) & light indian puffed rice snack (don't know how many syns was homemade)
Lunch:
salad made at home, wasn't enough with me being a little piggy! So had a jacket potato with cheese and beans from Tesco's Cafe (extra 2 syns for cheese as it looked like alot! + 1 Hex A)
Dinner:
Homemade chicken curry with Frylight & boiled Rice (I know no SF or SS but the curry had lots of onions, garlic and ginger in it!) Large dollop of Greek Yoghurt as was too spicy (2syns)
After Dinner Treat:
Milk Way Magic Stars Minis 12g bag (3.5syns)

Weigh day is here and I am so happy I am back in the 11s!


Breakfast: black coffee with two sugars (2 syns) & banana
Lunch: Made a homemade biryani from last nights left over sauce from the chicken curry, half boiled the rice in water and poured sauce in and boiled until it was fully cooked and fluffy, grapes
Dinner:
friends leaving do, so we are having a buffet that he has organised, no doubt there will be drinks too!

So, I abandoned this when I went on honeymoon at the end of October 2014. Came back and found that I had put weight on...obviously! Who goes on honeymoon and doesn't eat?! Anyway, after that I got a little distressed and started trying to be healthier at home. Christmas came and went and I decided the whole cliche "New Year, new me" thing was in order, however, I actually am planning on sticking to it. 6th Jan 2015 was my first Slimming World class and I went in all motivated. I kept to plan, was very stubborn and adamant that I wouldn't eat out in my first week, let a few friends down and the husband. Come first week of weigh in, I put on 1lb! I have never been so distraught, especially when I know i 110% stuck to plan. I texted the hubby to let him know what had happened and how upset I was. His reaction was even more upsetting. He texted me back whilst I was at class saying I think what you are doing is stupid anyway, I don't see how you can eat all that and lose weight. Nothing to say I'm sorry I will support you and hopefully you will have a better next weigh in.

I went home that evening, prepped lunches for the day after and just slept that evening away with tears on my pillow. Sounds like a really sad movie I know, but I do know that some people will sympathise with me on this. For the following week I thought I have to pick myself up, no-one is going to do it for me. I started next day fresh keeping in mind that I should try to portion control. I think the whole unlimited food thing is a way of making us feel that this isn't a food-deprivation diet like some, however, everything in large quantities even healthy food isn't going to make you lose weight. Portion control took place, even went out 3 times that week and I lose 2.5lbs. I was overjoyed but I have to remember I initially put on 1lb so 1.5lbs for 2 weeks is quite poor really.

Had my latest weigh in on Tuesday my week 3 one. I stayed the same at a grand total of 12st 2lb. A few things for the week was that it is the TOM, had a spa weekend away, did try to be sensible however. But these are excuses. Got a big telling off from a friend who I know is trying to be helpful in her own way of saying is this really working, you can probably do better by yourself. Well I obviously can't, Slimming world only gives you a list of things the rest is up to you. I know I am being all sad and wallowing in my own self-pity. I need to lose this 2 stone. I have lost 2 stone already since leaving university. But I just have to. This is the only place I can actually release how I feel. This is the only place these negativities have no space. This is a blog of my weight loss amongst hundreds of others, whether this is being read or not, it is a way for me to express what I feel and stand up for my beliefs. There is no way thousands of people can lose these amazing amounts and I cannot lose 2 stone. She did however suggest working me harder at the gym which I do really appreciate, I know she means well.

My friend did suggest taking Adios along with Slimming World. Has anyone tried it? Would be good to get some feedback.

Food for thought....

Plan of action this week is to keep up with my food diary as I do, reign in to a limit of 5-8syns a day and PORTION CONTROL. Will also update everyday of my food plan, would be good to get ideas of where I am going wrong.

Would be great to see your food, I wouldn't limit your syns though. Portion control (of free foods) fine, but I'd eat all your syns if you want them!
I've tried Adios, though not in conjunction with sw, and they made zero difference! X

I am seeming to have some trouble I stayed the same last week and I am hoping to shift something by tomorrow, although my scales at home would say otherwise, still the same! I have used most of my syns this week which is great. Also exercised both days this weekend just gone and intend on going to the gym tonight. This has been my week:

Blue= HEX B
Pink= HEX A
Green= SPEED
Orange= DRINKS
Red= SYNS


28/01/15
Breakfast= 27g Porridge (Hex B made up with water), pomegranate(s), blueberries & raspberries(s), black coffee & 500ml water

Food is looking good! Nice bit of variety too :) hmm odd that you sts- could you be retaining water from the exercise? X

No idea really, went to the gym yesterday too, tried not to drink so much water. Also today is weigh in day so lets see! Turned yesterday into an SP Day, so I hope that affects todays results. Munching on some melon currently!
