    Hannah's Weight Loss Journey

    I've restarted my weight loss journey. The last 12 months have been really tough. I said that I would be at target by new year 2015 but it will turn out that I'll probably be heavier then than I was last new year. My Dad has been extremely poorly over the last 6 months and I've been eating on the go, often only getting in at 10pm before being able to get my tea. The thing with slimming world is that you need time to prepare and cook which I just haven't had. They're doing ready meals in Iceland come January but that's a bit late now haha! Anyway, Dad passed away a few weeks ago now, although it's hard, I know he's not suffering now and we had many good times which I'm enjoying remembering.

    I rejoined slimming world this Saturday at a new starting weight of 15st 8.5lb. I don't care about the massive gain, all that matters is to get down to a healthy weight. So I'm starting a fresh and although I know I'll have the odd slip up I'm hoping that this time I can do it. I'm a pretty good cook (some of my favourite tried and tested recipes are here (Hannah's Recipes)) and now I've got the time to prepare and make lovely healthy meals. My weigh in days are Saturdays. I may not be on here every day but I'll check in hopefully at least once a week if not more.

    Exactly! We had our slimming world xmas do on Saturday night. I used flexi syns and text myself everything I drank, it came to 45 syns. That leaves me 60 syns for the rest of the week so 10 a day but will try to keep a bit under.

    So far today, I've had my advent calendar choccie (a celebration choccie) for 2.5 syns, a HiFi bar (B), homemade veggie soup (packed full of carrot, broccolli, onion, celery, peppers and a chilli) and a thorntons choccie at work too for 3 syns. That's 5.5 syns so far. I'm planning on having Pork steaks for tea with salad, new potatoes and a sprinking of cajun shake on the pork. Yummy!

    there's a lot of people making soup...must have another attempt at some point , my first go at one was disgusting, overdid the stock

    Have a look at some of my fave recipes (link below my signature). Some good soups in there. My minestrone is ace! Took me 3 months of tweaking to get the balance of ingredients right. Much nicer than the one in the slimming world recipe book!

    Had another night out last night for my uncles 60th. Going for a nice long walk in a bit to scatter dads ashes so that's some exercise thrown in to burn off some off last night's food!

    Got a house full of chocolate at the moment!!! Andy's a teacher so all the students have bought him every bit of chocolate under the sun. I've not touched them though. We're going to keep a small bit and take the bulk of it to a food bank. It will help me keep on track and other people can benefit by having nice treats at Christmas that they might not otherwise have.

    Doing a nice lamb roast dinner for tea with spring onion mash and minted gravy - yum!!!
