So this is my Diary, Feels odd to be posting it live on the internet but anyhow we all have to start somewhere and posting makes me have to stick to it or atleast own up if I miss the boat!

So I returned to Slimming World 3 weeks ago weighing in at 17st 13lbs, This week I weighed in at 17st 11lbs - 2Lbs Lost in 3 weeks, Not much at all but then I haven't been 100% on plan.. This Week I've decided to get my head in gear and really go for it, At the moment i'm in between jobs so there's not much else to distract me so NOW IS THE TIME to really get this Lifestyle Diet & Exercise up and running so hopefully I can continue my good work when I return to work. Shifts Kill me, I get so tired its really easy to slip into bad habits.. but not this time!

Exercise wise i'm doing well and can claim my Silver Body Magic award on Thursday providing I stick to it this week - Oh I love stickers, What simple motivation!

I have 8 and a half stone to lose so this could be a long journey but I'm in it!

So the Purpose of this thread is really for me to rant/rave and track how I'm doing.

Welcome to minis Birchy. Are you going to post your food on here each day? It can be a good idea and also to look at other diaries to see some menu plans.

Good luck

Hi Dorreen, Thankyou for the welcome.

Today I had Fruit for Breakfast (Melon), Soup for lunch and chicken and veg for dinner, Toffee MullerLight and Apple to follow, Snack was a Hi-Fi Light (HEB) and a dairy free milkshake that was hanging around in the fridge for a HEA.. I'm attempting a paper food diary this week to see how that helps, definitely thinking more about what I am eating and ensuring that I have my Healthy Extras, and another excuse to use stickers to mark a good day, Got some Smiley Faces. 20Something and still the attraction of stickers await.

With Syns when I'm following Plan I really struggle to incorporate them, So got some cartoons of OJ (4syns each) as a starting point, Get scared to use my syns on chocolate or anything as then I totally lose control, Go over syns, Binge, feel rubbish and this cycle continues.. Bleh!!

Hi, Welcome & good luck on your Journey :)
I usually use my syns on chocolate:rolleyes: , most of the time I have seelf control, and it's nice to have that treat :)
But if you fill up on free foods, you may not want to feel the need to binge on a choccie treat? :)...(easier said than done i know, fell into that trap a few times, but as long as you can get back on track, it'ss fine)

Thankyou Zafira - I don't trust myself to have any at the moment as I know I'll eat it all in one go, Think it may be a need to buy freddos but individually. :)
You've done really well with your 3stone welldone!

Welcome to the forum, if you've not done so already as NannyDoreen said sub to some diaries you'll be surprised how much inspiration you'll get from them.

Try & post your food diary here it will help, I also take pics of my meals as that keeps me in control.

Have you thought about using your syns on say mayo, tomato sauce, gravy that sort of thing, try & use your syns it will help with the weight loss, yep honestly.;)

I find it hard to believe that having syns increases your weight loss but then Slimming World is like no other plan that I know! It's amazing..

Nearly blew the wagon last night with a midnight feast but totted up it was 16syns! So not too far over..

From the Magazine (Jan/Feb 2015) I made the Veggie Moussaka tonight, Using Courgette instead of Aubergines and leaving out the sweet potato as Mum doesn't like it - I live at home now and it's taking some getting used to having someone else prepare and choose my evening meals but this week I've taken over the Kitchen and feel alot more in control due to this however it can't be a constant solution as Mum is already wanting her Kitchen back!!

Finding it hard to use my HEA Choice though, tomorrow it will be easy to use as making bolognase in the evening so I can have some cheese!.

Love the New Hi-Fi Bars that there doing in group and one of thouse is making up my HEB - Need More though I rub out tomorrow and don't have weigh in till Thursday!!

Sometimes I have hexa dairylea light on wholewheat crackerbreads, they are 1 syn each, I don't often drink milk so if I'm not having cheese as part of a meal this is a good way for me to use it.

My OH cooks my tea every night and what I say to him is just make sure I've loads of veggies with it and that seems to work, if we're having chips he makes SW chips; what sort of meals would your mum make?

I`m afraid I have no suggestions for hexA I always have milk as I am a coffee addict.

Do you like strawberry milk. There is a thing called Crusher, strawberry flavour which is free. It is on home baking line in Tesco.
I get it for the grandkids and calculated the syns and it was free. Not for everyone of course, but I liked a little in natural yogurt.

Oo I love crusher, reminds me of school days, that's great if it's free, will help me use my A choice.

Tonight I recycled last nights Mousakka adding bacon, mushrooms and mince to it making it into a Bolognese was lovely.

Mum normally does rice, veggies, meat kind of dishes when I cook I tend to do the pasta type dishes.

I also made the mistake of home weighing tonight, official weigh in not till Thursday and I've done well so far so treated myself to a slice of bake well tart which then led into me having the rest of the cake opps!! Hopefully can keep this weight off though.

Just Looked the Bakewell Tart Up it says it was a 6portion one and each portion was 10 and a half Syns Yikes, That's my weeks syns gone. If I don't syn tomorrow or Thursday I will be just over my weekly allowance but not by much as I'd only had 17Syns up till then - Feeling Better about having had the cake now i've looked it up and quantified it.

Today has been another good on plan day which I'm Happy About. Dinner was Sausage, Mash and Beans at a friends but Mash was without butter :)
I had Brunch today of Turkey Rashers, Egg, Baked Beans and Mushroom - Knowing I was going to have sausage for dinner I left that off breakfast.
Yum Yum!

I always try & count my syns it keeps me in control and sometimes things are quite as bad as you think.

I know we should not weigh during the week but I am afraid I do. Week before last I didn`t weigh and lost 2lbs. I thought I would do the same last week. However I weighed Wed morning  I had put on. I cut down for 2 days and lost on the Friday.
So for me I think at the moment a weigh at home helps me. I think my head is in the right place so far this year. It was not always like that, last year if I had put on I would carry on eating.
SW say don`t weigh which I do agree with usually, but I suppose we have to do what is best for ourselves.

10950723_10204702917550355_4906092290385259855_nmeal.jpg Wow, Just discovered I can upload images, This is tonight's dinner which I cooked, went down really well with everyone. The flavourings for the chicken were Lemon. Tyme, Garlic and Rosemary, There were also Greenbeans but they come later as I forgot about them till halfway though the meal opps! Well the Good News is that i'm not fully handing back over the cooking reigns to my Mum. I'm going to aim to do 2 meals a week, Keep me ontop of cooking.

My Food Diary this week has really helped me re-focus on food and i'm sticking with the diary, Going away over the weekend so a little nervous about how i'll be/get on around food but it's only a weekend I have the rest of the week to stick to plan if I do have to use extra syns etc.

050215.jpg Finally really going the right way lost 6.5lbs tonight!! Might have had a large bar of chocolate as a post weigh in treat though - This week i'm away over the weekend so going to be about trying to make the right choices.

Thankyou so proud of myself, I think It's because I never had the big losses in the first couple of weeks but this week I was super-focussed.
Maintaining the focus is the challenge now.
