Down the barrel of 40!

Hello, I am a newbie with 9 stone to lose, am determined to do it by the time I turn 40 in early 2017. I wanted to start a diary on here as I don't have a slimming buddy, so hoping this will help me track my journey and keep me accountable. I joined SW on 9 Feb and it's my first weigh-in tonight . Not a great first week though, went out for dinner at TGI's and had a couple bottles of wine with a friend at the weekend, so not expecting much. Fingers crossed.

Hi Jay-bird, well done on losing in your first weekend for keeping going despite eating out/celebrating. It is all too easy to think about delaying starting on your weightless journey because of a special occasion of some kind. then the following week, there's something else, then some other reason, well, at least that is how I used to be.
Stay on track as much as possible, this plan works and there is lots of support on this forum. I find it really motivating. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your words, I've been big all my life so I've definately been putting it off - for far too long. A great quote I read: "change only comes when the pain of change is less than the pain of staying the same." With aching hips, back and knees, holding the coats while the family go on the fairground rides and the soft play without me has finally got me down enough to put down the wine glass and the toast and start changing. We all deserve to be all we can be. Thanks for encorouging me x x

Well done on your loss Jay-bird... 1lb - 2lb per week is realistic and will stay off longer, at least that's the way I look at it.
Stay on track as much as possible and most importantly keep a diary... find the days I don't keep a diary are the days I lose track!

You'll find so much support, recipes & help on this forum.

Best of luck! :)

All good intentions went out of the window last night drinking voddie with my sister, who made a surprise visit with a bottle, oops. Apparently, I ended up making mini-pancakes and ate 2!

Ah well - back on it today. ☺

21 stone 13lb, into the 21's . That is 1 stone down since my start date of Jan 5th 2015. Can't believe I ever let myself get this way, but I am never gonna see 22 stone on my scales again. I signed up for the British Heart Foundation's 10 minute challenge yesterday. Today's challenge was to dance like nobody's watching for 10mins. Sounded easy! I lasted 5 mins before I had to sit down lol. Might have to build up to 10 mins, will do the other 5 in a bit. Started the day with a free yoghurt and a banana. Leftovers of last night's SW fry up for lunch and need to find something to do with pork mince for dinner. Maybe SW spag bol. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Have a good day ☺

Very proud of myself today, after a very long day at work the kids asked if they could order a takeaway. So I made myself a veg and pasta dish concoction and they had their kebabs. I did have to ask them to sit at the table and left them to it or I might have been tempted to pick at their leftovers. Haven't had one week without a cheat day yet, so trying really hard to do that this week.

Another accomplishment this evening. Had to drive my children to their dad's the other side of London. Being a Friday evening and late coming home, this is normally the excuse for a quick takeaway. But, I was good. Got home and threw together a yummy concoction of 2 eggs, a spring onion, some cherry toms and half a pack of lidl chicken tikka pack. Random but very nice! I can do this
