Jessica's Journey to Size 10

Hi everyone,

I've done SW in the past but I've always given up when the urge to binge gets to be too much. I've rejoined the local class so many times that it's almost embarrassing, the poor consultant must roll her eyes every time she sees me shuffling through the doors! This time I've signed up online instead because the local classes run at the same time as my college course, which I attend 6-9pm twice a week. I don't drive and there are other classes which are do-able but I'd be relying on public transport and a one hour class would end up using my entire evening, especially the ones that don't start until 7.30pm :(

Anyway, so here I am. 14st 11lbs, size 16 and only 16 months away from my wedding. Gulp.

Ooo there's no better incentive than a wedding, especially your own!!
1lb a week would realise almost 5 stones - hang onto that thought

Good luck with your journey

Thanks Tina! :)

I've counted 9 more weigh ins until my 25th birthday so I'd like a stone off for that. Mini goals are easier to stick to!

Day 2.

I woke up with the usual feeling of guilt and dread until I remembered that I'd stuck to my eating plan yesterday and it was such a feeling of relief. Dinner last night was huge and even though it was totally free, I'm already getting those sneaking doubts saying that it's too much food. My colleague has lost 2.5st with SW though and assures me that I'm doing it right so I'm putting my faith in her!

Food today looks like this:

B: Muesli (B choice) with whole milk (A choice), WW yoghurt, coffee
L: Homemade ham and lentil soup, wafer thin chicken, 2x clementines, another WW yoghurt
D: M&S Balanced for You meal as I'm working 9-5 and then at college 6-9pm (6.5 syns)
S: Banana, Aldi cranberry and cherry fruit bar (5 syns), 100ml whole milk for coffees (3.5 syns)

Total: 15 syns

I'll be switching to semi-skimmed milk when we run out of full fat, but I stocked up on Cravendale when it was on offer so I'm making my way through it :D

Day 3.

I jumped on the scales this morning (my official weigh in day will be Wednesday even though I started on Monday) and I'm already down 2.2lbs! I know that the big loss at the start of a diet is mostly water but it feels good to see the numbers go down anyway.

I was 100% on plan yesterday and so far today I'm on track:

B: Muesli (B choice) with whole milk (A choice), WW yoghurt, coffee
L: Homemade ham and lentil soup, 2x clementines, WW yoghurt, fruit bar (5 syns)
D: Turkey and chorizo lasagne (2.5 syns for chorizo)
S: Banana, grapes

I'm booked in for a bootcamp class tonight too as I haven't been in two weeks. My favourite trainer is currently on holiday so I've been moping around, avoiding the other trainer
:sign0007:

I'm feeling good so far. I always struggle with the mid-afternoon munchies and I fight the urge to go to the vending machine every day between 2 and 4pm, but if I can just get past that danger zone then I'm fine.

Day 4.

I manned up (womanned up...?) and went to bootcamp last night, which I'm paying for now. I have also resolved to take the stairs at work as my office is on the fourth floor and I could barely shuffle my way to the top - I'm in agony!

I'm booked in to go again tomorrow and then my favourite trainer is back on Saturday so I may go back then, or I might just skip it and do a spin class. Let's see how my muscles are holding up before I make any rash decisions :D

Food today looks like this:

B: One slice wholemeal toast (B choice) with Whole Earth peanut butter (4.5 syns), WW yoghurt, milk for coffees (A choice)
L: M&S Balanced for You meal (2.5 syns), 2x clementines, fruit bar (5 syns), WW yoghurt
D: Chicken casserole with potatoes and veg using an Oxo Herbs and More pot (1.5 syns split between two of us)
S: Banana, grapes

I'm really bad for jumping on the scales every morning, which I know means nothing because of natural fluctuations, but I managed to steadfastly ignore them this morning. I'm determined to keep off them until Wednesday morning but I know the suspense will be killing me by Sunday...

Day 5.

Well, I'm still on the wagon. I've been binge-free for four whole days and it feels brilliant. When I'm in the grips of a binge-starve cycle I can feel really hopeless so it's nice to feel in control for now, though the team that we share a kitchen with have boxes of doughnuts and my resolve is starting to wobble. Food today:

B: Weetabix (B choice), milk (A choice), WW yoghurt, coffee
L: Baked potato with beans and cheese single (2 syns), 2x clementines, fruit bar (5 syns), WW yoghurt
D: Garlic and rosemary roast pork with mustard mash, green veg and gravy. Dinner is working out as 8 syns for the olive oil, mustard and gravy granules
S: Banana before bootcamp, small serving of grapes and strawberries

I'm back at bootcamp tonight so hopefully a good workout will kill the urge for sugar :character00116:
