annabellz is on a distinguished road

I've just seen you can have 57g of ANY wholemeal bread as a HEb so maybe I'm doing okay as its slightly less than that,is that right?

Sorry to be a pain!

Weight Watchers thick wholemeal for me too.

You really feel you have a substantial sandwich. And it makes good toast.

Yes but your 50g will be for one slice I imagine - and you have been having two - so as said either have two slices for 2 HEBs or syn the extra bit

You can't do this. A HEB is one slice from a 800g loaf, regardless of syn value. It is what it is, one slice!

As for rolls I get the Waitrose essential wholemeal rolls. They're 60g each, not quite 57g but 3g isn't worth worrying about.

Not for a one off but it's the little things we ignore which add up!
Didn't want to appear a grump up there ^^ but you need to get things right, these are the things which can make a differerence when we are struggling, we learn to adapt the plan and make our own little rules.
A HEX is approx 6 syns but not all of them are, eg 5 scan bran is only 2.5 syns.

I use 2 slices from a 400g loaf of Hovis Wholemeal.

I used to have the Sainsbury's economy wholemeal (800g and 2 slices) and cut off the crust along 1 side of 1 of the slices of bread as 2 slices weighed about 60g. They then changed the thickness of their slices so it no longer works, however have found that Morrisons wholemeal bread (75p per loaf) 2 slices weighs about 62g so I cut 2 sides of crust off and hey presto 57g and a decent sized slice!

*** Health warning *** You do need to weigh each slice
