Diet: Slimming World
Depends on the person i think. Personally some weeks i have had my full syns and lost a fair bit other weeks i haven't. I think you would probably struggle not having any syns at all. Also with out them you probably wouldn't stick to it, you would go mad craving stuff.

Some very simple things have syns not just choc and sweets. For example tomato ketchup, olive oil, and mayo. Some syn foods i use are to make free foods better, like sauces and dressings.

I have tried quite a few diets and not got on well with them. I hate being hungry and Lighter Life just wasn't for me. I have also tried the GI and although i did lose, i got fed up of having to follow recipes and buying lots of ingredient i didn't use very often. I love SW I can eat as much free food as i like to fill up, i can still have the little treat in moderation and have lost 22lb already.

I have rambled on for ages, good luck with whatever you choose to do, but i would highly recommend going to group if joining SW.

It is up to you, my SWC says not to, but others do with no impact on their loss. I have found that I can't the times i have done i only lost 1/2 lb that week.

ok cheers bumpy0 - i guess i'll aim not to but if i know i'm going to have a bit of a party at the weekend, i'm best of saving the syns than blowing the syn count completely! 1/2 lb is better than nothing, although obviously it'll take some time to loose my goal of 3 stone at that rate!

Diet: Slimming World
You could just use Flexi syns! The night of the party or if you go out, just set yourself a high syn number then stick to that, the next day start again as normal with your 15 syns etc. This has worked for me, with a loss at the next weigh in.

hey bumpy0, flexi syns - not heard of that one before... sounds a bit dangerous, presumably there is a limit to how many syns you can increase to? otherwise i'll have 100 only joking... i realise that won't work.

Nop, no limit! If you know you are going out, just set a relistic amount of syns that you can stick to! Follow the plan upto that day as normal, have your daily syns and healthy Xs, use your flexi syns, then back to the plan straight away the next day!

I suppose, people that don't have a problem with their weight have "days off" but continue to eat "normally" around that day! I think that's how it works.
