    Hi Josie

Welcome to SW. I have IBS and try to avoid wheat so for breakfast I have a large bowl of fresh fruit, 35g of oats and a fat free yogurt, all of this just uses a BHE. Alternatively you could cook the oats for porridge, have toast (I like the genius bread it tastes nearly normal) and eggs or a grilled breakfast (bacon, eggs, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes). I'm sure when you have got to grips with the plan you will think of loads you can have. Good luck!

How about Baked beans omellete. Crack some eggs and whisk with salt & pepper. Put in a non-stick pan sprayed with fry light and put in the egg mix. Add some baked beans, put under a hot grill. It starts puffing up and it is delcious.

Breakfasts for Coeliac on Slimming World

Hello, Im a new Slimming World'er and also a coeliac (gluten intollerant) and can't have cows dairy....

Breakfasts are impossible for me.... No bread, oats, yoghurt (can't find fat free goats yoghurt?), milk.... and to top it of, I hate eggs! haha! :/

I can only think of fruit & veg....I worry this is not enough for breakfast... & kedgeree..... which may be nice, but not 7 days a week! lol

Anybody have any Ideas? Anything appreciated!

    Rebecca

Rebecca, you poor thing - it must really be a chore and i guess quite repetative. If you like fruit and feel satisfied, then there's no problem having it for brekkie but the only other thing i can think of at the moment is rice pud.

I've recently finished some that I made with water & sweetener. Granted I also mix in one of my favourite flavours of yogurt to make it a bit 'creamier' but if required, you could perhaps use some of your syns and use a goats milk version that's not fat free.

Are you allowed to eat, or even like, sausages? I think the Linda McCartney ones are really nice with tinned toms & mushrooms or baked beans.

I'll see if I can think of anything else for you.

If you are in to non-dairy milks, here's some updated hexA values for the various types.

I work in hospital pharmacy and most coeliacs we see do eat pure oats (specifically gluten free ones). Have you tried them and reacted, or just avoided to be on the safe side? http://www.minimins.com/slimming-wor...ow-hexa-2.html (500ml of some soya milks now a HEXA)

There is quite a large range of gluten free breads/pasta/cereal/cake mixes on the market now.

I used to work in a pharmacy and in some instances people could get these items on presription.

I some of your gluten free range may have syns but if you limit it and subsidise with fruit then you may get by.

Also you dont have to have 'traditional' breakfasts you know... How about a platter of sliced meat/cheese/fruit. Maybe try eggs in a variety of ways and see if you can grow to like them. You could even have dinner leftovers... Some people eat takeaway curries as breakfast (not my choice of breakfast) but I have been known to have reheated corn beef hash and beans as a late brekkie.

    Good luck.
