Do you treat yourself weigh in night?

In my slimming world group there was a discussion about people who treat themselves after the weigh in by having a naughty meal or eating whatever they want for the rest of the evening. Do any of you do this? If so, does it work? Is it helping you stick to the plan? Are you still losing the weight?

I actually treat myself after weigh in,

my group is on monday night so I do have something after and i have 7 days staying on track and i still get losses

It just helps me to be focus the rest of the week and something to look forward to, but I do within syns or just alittle over. Lately I have been having smartie flurry from mcdonalds on the way back. but I use all my syns for that day to get it and i know its 16 1/2 syns so its alittle over but im right back on track on tuesday all the way through monday night again.

But having this treat does help me to have a great week afterwards. Its all about self control, what works for you and which makes you happy because if you arent happy while on this life style then you will get into trouble at some point. But I know I can carry on with slimming world for the rest of my life if I have a treat or so to keep my going
Hope this makes sense and not ramblings lol

I weigh on a Friday morning, but no treat night for me. Having said that, I tend ot go out every weekend, so I use quite a few syns then. I'd rather stick to the plan on WI night and have a decent night out, than binge on the friday and then not be able to drink on a saturday! xx

The reason I ask this is because several members said that they do it, have some wine, a pizza or a chinese. So after weigh in (had a good loss of 5 pounds) I went to KFC and got a meal, just logged up what I ate and it's worth like 70 syns and now I feel awful and like i've ruined everything!!!!

Will I still lose weight next week? I regret eating that so much now.

well what you could do is count the 70 syns out of your syns total for the rest of the week. You're allowed 105 syns in the 7 days - so maybe you could reduce that? Take 15 of the KFC syns for today, so that means you have 55 syns to take off your total of 105 leaving you with 50 syns to have this week. It's entirely up to you - don't feel guilty - you had a blow out after a fantastic loss! you won't have put hte 5lb back on again (although i wouldn't suggest you have one everynight). I'm sure that you can make up for it over the next week! xxxx

At first, I used to treat myself to fish n chips every weigh in night and was still losing weight! But now im nearing target i cant do it anymore... Think it depends on where your at on your slimming journey! If you can get away with it then y not! Go 4 it :)

Well because I don't eat many syns during the day I like to have a nice chocy bar saved for when I get home after weigh in, Nothing huge mind maybe a crunchy or small size cad buries or a kinds bueno that sorta thing (the small size bars, not the snack size or the huge ones or anything) they are a little too synful to enjoy through the week but having that keeps me going through weigh in day, (not having syns ect.)

i do, its the only night i can have what ever i want, absolutely guilt free, but if i'm going out the weekend or i know i'll defo be having a drink, i wont.

I always have a little ''treat'' but its within my syns and something which sometimes I could have during the week. Like at the moment we have some milka bars with dime in, they're 12 syns so I could have them any day if I wanted, but I've been saving mine as a treat for WI day.

Ask yourself why you need or want a treat? Why reward a good weeks loss with food outside of the plan? I don't get it.

If you have 70 syns worth of treat, knock it off the weeks syns and you stay in control and on the plan.

You may still lose well by having an off plan treat, which is super, but you could no doubt lose better if you didn't!!!

I do as Jay has described here. I have a treat but work out the syns and knock it off my weekly total. That way it's the best of both worlds - you get to indulge yourself but stay firmly on plan.

I have always treated my self with something little wether it was some garlic bread with a the homemade lasagne I had made for dinner or maybe a couple of cheeky glasses of wine.
However I do know that WI night shouldn't be a treat night but it does give you something to look forward and I would rather have one treat a week, instead of telling your self no until you give in and doing some thing silly!

A good way to look at it is, if you have a vase with 7 roses in. If one wilts, you wouldnt throw the entire bunch away just pick the one that's died out and you will still have 6 beautiful rose.
So why throw your week away for one day or even just one meal!!!

My thought is that if I'm trying to make sustainable changes then for me doing that is not really sustainable post target. Also I don't consider food to be a treat as I can eat whatever I like on SW. I am choosing whether to eat certain things or not as are people who have something after weigh in. I am nearing target too so I know that if I blow all my syns on pizza I'll be fed up when I get to the scales because everything shows up for me. for those people where they still lose having a treat after weigh in then you are compromising losses if you don't count but if that's what it takes to stay on plan and you are losing then that's as valid a choice as mine.

I don't on wi day as I feel at my most motivated then. I generally have one off plan meal a week without feeling too guilty about it. 20 on plan meals usually results in a loss for me.

Il treat myself every now n then like il go weeks with no treats the one week like this week i had a cupcake the other evening cause I made them n I feel it's not fair not to have one lol! N like I had popcorn as I went to the cinema last night. I just feel like sometimes its needed this whole life style is forever but I don't wanna feel deprived for the rest of my life lol but I just make sure I exercise to make up for it :) 22 lengths of swimming is my goal tonight in an hour :)

I tend to have some kind of sweet treat, a piece of cake or indulgent chocolate bar etc, if I know I have something coming up in the following week where I'll be off plan I tend to avoid it, like others have said I find it gives me something to look forward to through the week. My weigh in is tonight, today at work it's someone's birthday and lots of cake is on offer, I've taken a piece to have tonight and it's certainly helping me to ignore the goodies that are on offer!

I did for a few weeks, and I gained and lost the same 2 pounds, because I couldn't 'fix' what I'd done on the monday / make the rest of my syns last til the next one. learnt my lesson! Now I don't have any syns until after weigh in (they're usually with tea or after anyway) and I might have 20-25 instead of the 15, because that's easy to remedy over two days - but not always. Treat nights are not conducive to weight loss AT ALL IMO

I agree with the principle if you have lost weight then it's nice to feel rewarded for your efforts and let's be honest, hard work! But why do we always make the treat food related? It could be a nice bath and and a new body lotion for after, a new book..anything other than food still has the ability to make it a treat.. Now having said all that, why can't I practice what I preach??
