You really have to get your head in the right place. Thousands of people can attest that SW works - for me that means buying superfree fruit and veg - lots of it. People say it's expensive but since August 30th I have only bought 2 packets of biscuits and 1 multipack of crisps - no takeaways for me, just a couple for the kids - far less bread and butter lasts forever now. I have one or two low carb meals a day - chilli with cauliflower rice or meat and salad.
I do drink alcohol one or 2 times a week - but it's now vodka rather than loads of lager or sometimes white wine (a whole bottle!) and have only had 2 weeks when I have gained & never more than 1.5 lbs and always got on plan and had a good loss the following week.
If you want it work it can and will. Good Luck.
i completly understand what your saying.... but i didnt mean to sound like am finding it hard work, i smply meant that ive put alot of effort into understanding this plan, ive filled my fridge with nothing but fruit and veg, and ive tried to ensure that iam following the plan to the letter.

I am more than ready to change my life. for the last 6 months ive been down and depressed due to a difficult break up, i have hit rock bottom and the only way is up. i feel excited about the prospect of a new me and finding a new man. I cant continue in the mind frame ive been in because i will just destroy myself.thats how i feel, and even tho my heart is still broken, i know this life change will help me feel more positive about the future.

    I lost 8lbs weeks 1 and 3..
I cut down what I ate week 2 and only lost 1lb.. so don't fall for that trap...

I've lost nearly 17st now to get to my target so it definitely works...
wow you are a true slimmer, what a huge achievment! congratulations, that is life changing.
over the years i have damaged my body through irregular eating patterns, to fit around my jobs and shift work. so a plan like this that requires regularity and a certain level of food can often feel like iam eating too much. i have often stuggled to fit 3 meals in a day, and people can moan at me and say iam not making enough effort but thats rubbish. i have never felt like i particularily eat that bad, i know the good foods from bad, iam quite educated however my irregular food habits are my draw back.

so week one of this diet and ive been eating regular healthy food and so i think my body is shocked to how much food its getting, because its used to starving over lunch and having a bad tea (in the past).

iam hoping this is the reason for the slow/no weight loss in week one.
I seriously struggle to drink alot too, just doesnt feel natural for me and i know i need to address this.

if i post this weeks diary sheet to you will you advise me if you think its missing something, or has too much, as the case maybe.

Sorry to hear about what's happened in the past and your right, now is the time to become a newer stronger you, its all about putting yourself first and having something YOU want. Lots of people post their diaries - no reasons why you shouldn't we will all help and support you. You/Your body will find it weird adjusting to being able to eat so much good stuff and still be able to consistently lose weight. You have had some good tips/advice already from people who have posted i.e Coljack Gazter. Take a look at http://www.minimins.com/slimming-wor...re-afters.html (Before and afters!) if this isnt inspiration I dont know what is. You too can do this - good luck and stay strong

The big losses to begin with is more to do with the switchover from a very fatty high calorie diet to a controlled diet like slimming world. When your body encounters the shock of lack of calories it starts to eat up other fuel reserves. Ideally fat, but in the first couple of weeks the body has other options, such as proteins and carbs within you first, but if you are already on a diet before you switch over, you wont get that loss, in fact if you are on a diet that restricts carbs or a very low calorie diet you could even gain within the first few weeks as your body readjusts back to normality.

'water weight' its what can come right back when you drop off your eating plan (and disappears again the following week when you get back on)

So, those big losses at the beginning arent really big losses from losing fat, that kicks in soon after when does supplies are exhausted.
Total lost so far 126.5 lbs in 63 weeks.

I got to target and have stayed there for 12 months. Trust us, it does work beautifully. Its really by far the best weight loss plan, well I and a lot of others think so. Good luck, and we are all here to help

Yes iam aware that the large losses are usually down to water retention,
i just want a good loss to kick start my mood, but its ok, as long as its less. I will be happy.
