What time is bed time? Does it effect weight loss?

I'm terrible for staying up too late and I'm wondering if I get enough quality sleep. Does anyone else think about this? What time doe you switch out the light and how long does it take you to drop off?

I'm a terrible sleeper. Since losing a shed load of weight I get really tired so got o be early. about 10 ish in the week. Because it takes me ages to get to sleep and I get up several times a night for the loo ( don't know why but that's been happening since I started losing weight) i' don't get a lot of sleep .

Im rarely in bed before 12 and im up at 6 weekdays - I know i dont get enough sleep and by Friday im shattered. If i go to bed early i cant sleep catch 22

Bedtime for me is 1 or 2am usually. I don't start work til 1:30pm so I get enough sleep. Means I have breakfast at 12, lunch at 5 and dinner at 10!

I work in an office where my hours vary from 8am up to 6.30pm.

I try to get to bed by 10.30 but some nights it can be up to midnight.
im awful if I don't have enough sleep, I just can't concentrate lol xxx

I find as im getting older i dont need as much sleep lol having said that my late nights catch up and then i feel absolutely shattered then i get ratty

Ah who needs NHS lol - I just think if you go to bed early it stops you snacking - simples lol Just wish I could do it

Well my thinking is, if I don't have a good sleeping routine my digestion system slows right down and like a few of you this had happened since starting SW. Might ease up on the carbs for the next few days as I really would love a lose this week :(

I've been drinking more water since starting as the more fibre you eat the more fluids you should drink (according to my consultant) and I'm up 2 or 3 times a night....in the end I suppose it'll be worth it and hope my body adjusts!
You've done great by the way. Congrats :)

My last post was meant for you! Forgot to quote your post...

Bedtime for me is about 9.30 or 10 on a weekday and about an hour later at the weekends. Never could stay up late! Often asleep on the sofa before this.

I have a little one so I am up at least twice a night so have broken sleep.....not sure it affects my weight losses ??

I have always been a bad sleeper i only have between 5-6 hours a night at the most and ive lost weight every week this year (hopefully not this week now im at target haha) i was going to bed between 12-1:30am and up at 6am. I think my problem is i find it hard to clear my mind of everything before bed and always have about 2-3 things on my mind at any one time.

At the minute i am trying to make sure i am in bed for 10-10:30pm and up at 5:40am to exercise. I still find it hard to nod off though and can lay in bed for a couple of hours before nodding off and i wake up a few times during the night also. It does seem to be getting slightly better although i could with learning some techniques to clear my mind before bed.

My problem is I cant get enough sleep! I go to bed around 11pm, fall asleep straight away and wake at 7.40am on weekdays and I would still be tired at work!

On the wknds I could easily sleep for 9 - 12 hours and I would still be tired and ready for sleep at the normal bed time.

Ive been to the doctor but everything is fine, she says I just need loads of sleep to function! When im on plan 100% I could lose between 2-4lbs a week so maybe sleep does help my weight loss?
