There are lots of veggie/vegan posts on here, it's very easy, you just don't eat the free foods like egg etc. you can do green days which are meat free.

Alcohol isn't forbidden, but needs to stay within syns, so you can't go wild and expect to lose, but you can have some

Thank you very much for the replies ,im looking forward to trying slimming world, tho a little scary the thought of walking in there knowing no-one at all,and not knowing what to expect,do we buy books that tell us the green days/red days and syns? do other people see what you weigh or is it discrete and personal,so many concerns and no doubt over nothing lol

SW is known as the group with the big heart - you should find that you're group will welcome you with open arms and be really friendly and welcoming!

You get the pack (containing) the books when you join up. You will also be taken through the plan with your consultant - let him/her know that you're vegetarian and they will specifically explain the green plan to you!

Weigh in is very discreet - nobody except you and the person weighing you will ever get to know your weight, unless you chose to make people aware of it. In image therapy your C will go around the group, and the usual formula is "*Insert name* - well done, you lost "x amount of" lb's this week". If you've had a gain one week, or just don't want your losses announced in general, you can take this up with your C and they will miss you out - although it is a shame to be missed out as you will also miss out on your well deserved praise, or maybe advice and support if you've had a tough week.

Honestly, you have nothing to worry about. Just remember everyone is there for the same reason! Good luck, and well done for biting the bullet and deciding to join

You should be fine! You can still have drink using your syns and green is great for veggies - I do only green days and have lost 4 stone (I'm a veggie as well). You can have soy and some nut milks as your HEXA if you prefer them to cows milk and eggs are by no means obligatory

I keep a diary thread (link in my sig) which you are more than welcome to check out if you like! I try to make it quite clear so it might give you an idea of the kinds of things you can eat.

Good luck if you do sign up! x

Hi Missy your doing brilliant and your food diary was very helpful,i know the quorn chunks and mince are free on a green day?but how do we work out how many syns other quorn products are ie quorn bacon, sausage etc or does it say all this in the books we get when we join,im hoping not to use many syns a day if possible so i can save them for my evening with my husband without feeling i cant join him with a few drinks or snack

    Thank you! <3

You'll get the books when you join which will have some of the syn values in but you will also get access to be website where you can search for branded product syn values (like quorn) or work out the syns from the nutritional info using the syn calculator. Or have a look in the syn values section on here for some ideas?

You might not even need to save all your syns - my husband has joined in with me (he hasn't joined the group) to be supportive and pretty much eats what I do but with a few extra naughty things. There is a 1 syn low-alcohol lager you can get (Sainsburys Czech lager) and wine is not too high in syns. And there are tonnes of amazing low syn snacks and you can even do a takeaway within your syns if you are careful!

I know what you mean about having time together - I only see my husband in evenings due to our work hours conflicting We don't really buy snacks any more but if he gets crisps and a beer in, I'll have my 1 syn lager and some popcorn and that works pretty well

Hi, and a big welcome also! I actually bought some of this lager yesterday, and its fine! A very good substitute and very very low in syns for a large 500ml bottle, happy days. You will do well on S W. It really is the way to go, well I believe anyway. My hubby is doing it also, I got to target last November and am still there now! You will sooooooooooooo do this.

Hi Hollys nan thank you very much for the welcome and congratulations on your weight loss and maintaining it,i really i hope i find it easy to follow and from what ive seen and been told the green days will suit me ,tho does seem like you can eat rather alot ,im a little scared i might end up putting more weight on lol as we have bad habits of skipping breakfast and lunch and just eating in the evening(which probably is why i piled on the pounds) new year new habits ..cant wait to hopefully get bk into a size 10 ish lol
