    Veggie red days

    Hi All

This is my first post sorry if there is already a topic on this. I have done slimming world before and lost over 3 stone on it in 2008 but I often get stuck at 9st10lb. I am quite short and would love to get a little smaller. I have now decided to rejoin online and just do red days mainly. I am planning to save my HE for the evening and wondered if anyone had any ideas for lunches?

I do not eat meat or fish but everything else.

    Any ideas would be great

    Thanks

You can eat tofu and quorn. I have tried red days but don't like 'em, I find them really hard as I use a lot of beans and lentils in cooking. As a compromise I do the occasional low carb green day instead.

That's why I don't bother doing red days! Some people like red days as it is lower carb by nature but you can do pretty much the same thing with a green day and be less restrictive

I'm looking to try SW after years of not doing it, and this was a major consideration for me, the whole red day, green day didn't work for me when I tried it before as I'm vegetarian and the person running the class couldn't really help. I get bored of quorn and tofu if eat it all the time. Good to see a vegetarian having success.

There's lots you can do on green days with beans, lentils, barley, etc it's just about being inventive. Getting bored is the killer, I have to constantly look up new ideas but it does work, promise! I only do green days, the red days are too hard as a veggie and EE is kinda pointless when you are a veggie too. Good luck! x

Red days are mostly for meat and fish eaters so I dont understand why you would want to do only red days. Would green not suit you better being a vegetarian?

I know a couple of veggies on here do. Red's not for me though, more than happy doing green and the weight is coming off. I think there's a perception that green is some kind of carb free-for-all whereas it really doesn't have to be like that if you don't want it to be. Green is so versatile and that's why I love it.

Thanks for the link to recipes I will have a look. I have been on/ off slimming world for years and I only ever done green days as a veggie but after my initial weight loss the last few years I never get lower than 9st10lb despite sticking to green days to the letter. I have a large tummy and small everywhere else (thats where all my weight goes) and have been recommended to reduce carbs (I only eat brown rice and pasta) so thought I would try red days and have quorn and tofu instead of meat but restrict my carbs a bit. I know green is better for veggie's but I wanted to change it up a bit.
