Porridge for Breakfast??
I have never ever had porridge before, but I'm sick of cereal so I need a little help with it. I have the Quaker Oats Porridge Oats, but I need to know how to actually make it and do I make it with milk? Also how many grams I can actually have D:
Shall I add some sweetener to sweeten it up? :)

I make mine up with milk, but I don't measure the milk, I think I used about 100ml this morning, I put it in a big microwavable bowl and just keep an eye on it until its ready. It's really easy. Are they just normal oats? you get 35g of porridge oats.
I don't add sweetener, you could always make it without and then mix sweetener in if you need it, I always have fruit in mine which sweetens it up enough for me.
You can also try magic porridge, I haven't had it this year but did it loads last year, basically mix 35g of oats with a yogurt (mullerlight is about the right size but use whatever yog you want) and leave over night, this then doesn't need to be cooked and you can have it cold or heated or a bit in the microwave

Hi hun,
Oooh I love my porridge!:D I usually make mine with water and then I pour a bit of skimmed milk on top, add sweetener and sometimes 1tsp honey(1 syn) or some frozen berries xxx

Thank you so much! I've never had it before so I am completely clueless, but this really helped out a lot :)

I have magic porridge every day but I don't use a yoghurt - I make mine up the night before with skimmed milk, then eat it cold the next morning poured over a big bowl of fruit salad. Yummy.

Magic porridge every morning for us made with yogurt and frozen fruit yum yum yum!

I have porridge every morning and its so filling, I use the Quaker oats so simple, empty the sachet and fill the empty sachet with milk and micro, so easy and don't have to measure

I use ordinary Scots oats from a box. Not Oats so Simple because it is ridiculously expensive. I have a little plastic pot which contains just 35g. I scoop out one measure of oats, put it in a deep bowl, add two measures of cold water, and microwave for just under three minutes (it depends on the power of your microwave - experiment). Sprinkle a little salt on it - that's it.
