Could somebody please advise on the syn value for Aldi Extra Lean Turkey mince. I've just bought loads because it's on offer at £1.25, I should have checked in advance.

Thanks

Craig

You would need to post the nutritional information or work it out on the syn calculator yourself.
By the way for future reference questions like this are better posted in the syn values sub-forum :)

You've reposted the same thing tho lol! As PP said you need to post with the nutritional values so someone can help you :) do you have access to the SW website? As the syn calculator on there is fab :)
Have just looked on syns online and aslong as its less than 5% fat, extra lean turkey mince is free on original and extra easy :) HTH

Thanks Welshtigger, I'm new to forums!! I'm a member, and as such do have access to the online tools. I was both being lazy and wanting to get my number of posts up.

Thanks

Craig

Yes for it's normally £1.79 but on for £1.25 until February 9th.

Ah right! Lol! If you want to get your posts up, there is a fun section with word games and trivia based things that helps-if you like films we have a film thread on the go in the 'off topic' sub forum :)

unfortunately that is not the case with turkey mince. it has to be extra lean turkey breast mince but ehere is no fixed % fat given by SW. I know the asda one is only 3% fat and even that is not syn free. SW issued a release about mince a while back and it said there were very few syn free turkey minces - I know Sainsbury does one and perhaps also Waitrose (but don't quote me on that one) and that's about it :(

Syns online states that extra lean, less than 5% basic turkey mince is free on EE and original

I wonder if eg Asda <3% mince contains some additives? As there can't be much other to explain confusion??

Our local Asda has stopped selling Turkey Mince. I've looked on My Fitness Pal which has Aldi Turkey Mince at 0.8g Fat per 100g which is 0.8 % which seems low, I'll check the pack details tonight.

Hey fab, thanks for your help!

Hope it's ok to post the screen shot-if not, feel free to remove it

Sorry I just wanted to confirm it as although you said about the 5% being free, someone else posted that it wasn't. There didn't seem to be a clear answer as everyone was saying different things. Thank you

I took the information directly from syns online, hence posting the pic to back it up-hope it helps x

Agree with welshtigger in that extra lean is counted as less than 5% fat and therefore is free. My consultant said you can't rely on the description alone as being extra lean as some mince is still high in fat.

yeah it def helped welsh tiger, thankyou. I always steer clear of minxe other then beef (which i only buy for burgrs use quorn gor eveeything else) as never sure on syns, so thanks for clearing it up :)
