Hi! You will love slimming world hun. Loads to eat and I'm never feeling hungry and deprived. I've been doing it for over 10 months and lost 4st 9.5lbs, aiming for that 5st award before the end of march which will mark my one year since joining :)
This forum is great for new people, I learned loads from this site when I joined, still am learning new things! There's a recipe section which will give you some ideas for meals, also a food diary section (including mine which there should be a link for in my signature) peoples food diaries will give you an idea how you should be following the plan if you get confused reading the book you get at group, as its a lot to get your head around at first!
Any questions feel free to inbox me or comment on food diary if you want! I'm sure you will be fine x

Hi welcome,
Well done for taking the first step, you obviously have a class and plan in mind, thats fab.
I love sw and would recommend it to anyone, if you stick to it the results are amazing;-) you have very simialr statistics and goals to me, I am 5ft 6 and my starting weight was 16st 3lb with dress size 18 - 20, my aim is to get down to 11.5 stone as any less and I start to look ill !
I have so far lost 11lb in 6 weeks but that is just through diet alone, and if im honest ive not even been 100% all of the time. add a bit of excercise or body magic as slimming world call it and the numbers can be huge! I have just started on the excercise, more for fitness also as well as to help the weight loss so only time will tell.
I lost 2 and 1/2 stone in 6 months last year following slimming world in preperation for my sisters wedding and my bridesmaid debut! Many of my colleagues in work have lost between two and four stone each follwing slimming world and they all did that within a year, encouraging I think!
Good luck on your journey, there is a tonne of support here as well as at your new group so make the most of it all;-)

Welcome, and we are roughly the same height and where we want to get to. As far as plans go everyone's body is different. I can't eat a lot of meat otherwise I gain it all as weight, so I stick to green only (could do EE, but get more Hexs on green). I have been having a bit of trouble yoyoing on green and finally figured out what the issue was and weight is now coming off.
I suggest trying each plan to see which one your body prefers and then you can go from there. If I had to do it all again, or give advice I'd say to try one plan fully for a week without mixing them up and compare losses. Then pick one or two of the best plans to mix up if you wish.
Keep a food diary either here or in a jotter so that when you can't figure out what might be going on you can look back and try to pick out problem areas. It's easier if you do it on here if you want some help from others. Just start a diary in the diary section.
30 day shred is also very good, google and it should come up on youtube. It only takes about 25 mins from start to finish and can literally be fit into your daily life quite easily. Either get up a bit earlier, or wait to the kids are in bed. Or better yet get the kids involved too.
Some people plan their daily meals for the week, I can't do that. Even though I am very orgnised I find doing that makes me feel quite constrained. I'd rather have everything I need in the house and then decided that day what I want to eat and then plan my day.
The other thing I have found really beneficial is getting the food directory, snacks, and free branded food books as even though you can look in the syns section, sometimes everyone gives values for EE and that doesn't help when you are doing different plans. With the books you can go through at your pace, plan your shopping list with syns at hand and never go wrong on your plan.
