Hi all just venting I'm in my second week after an amazing week 1 loss yesterday n today was doing so well n then went n ate chocolate n biscuits waaaay above my syn allowance I can't even calculate :(

I had salmon 2 pieces for dinner n didn't realise they were 6 syns each as they had sweet chilli seasoning!!! N I'd already had 12 syns so I was at 24 syns then I just ate a packet of munchies (choc) n about another 6 biscuits! I could slap myself!

Maybe it's because I didn't eat enough today I had 1 Banaba on one wm toast for breakfast apple n grapes for lunch n that was it until this evening when u had what I said plus 5 new potatoes n veg

Not sure why I'm even writing this!

I weigh in tues evening, I'm not sure if I draw a line n start afresh right now or calculate the syns n claw it back :-/ what do you all think.

I think if I calculate my whole calories for today it's about 2000

Def draw a line. Start a fresh day! Know how you feel, normally weigh on sat morning. Went tonight as I know next few days are busy and can't weigh sat, put a pound on! Came in had choc, then thinking about it, did zumba last night, ate today and normally weigh first thing without eating, so if I had waited til sat would have prob been different, anyhow I will draw a line and start a fresh.

If I was you I would just draw a line and get straight back on plan, in my opinion if you try and claw back syns you're still thinking of today, I find it better just to let it go and start fresh, you've got plenty of time before your next weigh in.

Also try to avoid thinking about calories, that's not how slimming world works, its food optimising not calorie counting.

It does look like you need to eat more during the day, is there any reason why you hadn't had much?

Anyway, draw the magic line and get back on it, you'll be fine xx

I'm sure you can claw that back, you've got plenty of time. Fresh start tomorrow and lots of superfree until Tues? x

Personally, I would draw a line under it and start afresh tomorrow. Tuesday is a long way away, more than enough time to get back on track. From reading your post, it really seems like you didn't eat enough during the day. You basically had toast and fruit until dinner, is that right? Did you have your Healthy Extras? There's no need to go hungry on Slimming World! It's one of the things I like most about the plan. I've had 3 hearty meals today, plus snacks and I'm fully expecting a loss when I WI tomorrow. Good luck! It can take a while to get your head around the SW way but trust the programme as it really does work if followed correctly.

Thanks guys!

Ok the lines drawn! My consultant said that although its food optimising it still comes down to calories at the end of the day hence me calculating calories

I've got to stop counting calories n fat n carbs ill drive myself crazy

My problem during the day is that I work 5 hrs per day so don't get a lunch break, just 15 min break so no time to get to staff room heat up whatever food eat it pack/wash up n get back to work.

My hours are between the school run so although I only work 5 hrs I'm on the go from breakfast until 4 pm at best, but often until 6 once I've got my daughter to n from clubs n tuition n home etc.... I need to be better prepared but don't know what I could take.... Ill have to address this as I think this is going to be a problem moving forward. Any ideas feel free to throw em at me

Oh and btw I ate the fruit today sneakily at my desk hence having time to have that lol

But anyway new day tomorrow nothing else today n I WILL be good n I WILLA have a loss next Tuesday :)

Thanks again everyone

Don't count calories. Whatever your C says, that's not how SW is supposed to work. Choose filling, low fat foods, make sure 1/3 of every meal is superfree and stop eating when you're full. Simples. If your weight loss starts tailing off at any point, you can look more closely at what you're eating but I really wouln't over complicate it at this early stage.

Given that you don't get much time to eat during the day, I would make a hearty breakfast a priority if I were you. Try a SW 'fry up', a mushroom omlette or porridge with fruit. For lunch, why not take a wholemeal bread sandwich (HEB) with tuna or egg, plus a salad/fruit. You could easily eat that in 15 minutes, and it would be filling. Or make a couscous or quinoa salad the night before and take it with you in a tub. There are tons of lunch ideas in the recipe section. Could you make sure you have Alpen Lights in the car so you have something low syn and filling to snack on so you're not starving when you get home?

absolutely it all comes down to calories in and calories out, weight loss and maintainance will always be about that BUT the lovely folks at Slimming World have worked it all out for us and called it food optimising so we don't get hung up on calories, totally agree with alwayssunshine :)

Hi shell, i too work some 5 hr shifts with a 15 min break so i tend to have a banana or wholemeal roll before my shift, then just a quick tea/coffee at my break, it does usually see me through. Good luck, onwards and upwards!!!
