Hi everyone, I have birth in may and started slimming world at the start of July but went on holiday in August and went off plan and never went back on, 3 weeks ago I decided that now it's time to get back on track and try and tackle my weight, been on plan since then and have lost 7.5 pounds, weigh in is on a Wednesday so I hope more this week. Ive also started jogging just for 15 mins in the evening round the block 5 times a week to increase my fitness, I'm always out waking with my daughter and walk a couple of miles every day with the buggy.

My target weight is to loose 5 stone by june next year. does anyone think that possible ? I will be my sisters bridesmaid and would love nothing more than to feel good about myself, I've always been over weight in my life and I really want to do this for myself and my baby daughter

It is possible if you make a commitment to yourself that this is it!

I started off in September with 5.5 stone to lose. 10 weeks later and I'm just half a pound shy of having lost 1.5 stone.

You can do it, just stay focussed.

Good luck!

I started in April and have lost 5 and half so it is def possible with lots of hard work, determination and sticking to plan 100%
Good luck :D

I lost 5.5 stone in a year so yes, it can be done! Would have been less than a year if I hadn't a month or so faffing around and not really losing.

Hoping to do it all again next year once my baby arrives and get to target :D

Good luck! xxx

hey emma, I could have written that post myself ive got 5 stone to loose as well, I haven't had a set date in mind but if I lost it by june like you I could go on holiday yipppeee, I haven't been on holiday for nearly 10 years due to my weight and confidence.
so will be a great treat/present/reward and target :)
Im on my 4th weigh in and lost 8.5 lbs xx

Take it half a stone at a time, you can do it :) I started in April and never thought id shift over 5 stone. Good luck on your journey

Hi Emma, like you I have 5 stone to loose and have given myself 12 months to get to my target. I have just done my 1st week and lost 3lb. Im just getting to grips with the plan, last week was fine I had plenty to eat and felt full after my meals which on other diets I have done in the past I was hungry.

Good luck will keep a look out for your posts
xx

hi everyone
how you all doing this week? I had weigh in again yesterday and lost 2lb so would LOVE LOVE LOVE to loose 3.5lb next week for my stone award!!! trying to drik plenty and eat fruit all day.
ive just found a shop that has been open a while but knowone knows about 1hrs drive away so went today and got loads of fruit vegetables, alpen lights, hot chocs, low syn crisps and a few xmas bits :)

Definitely doable but very challenging. However I can promise you that even if you 'only' lose 3 stone (and therefore a way off your initial aim) you will still feel amazing.

Everyone responds differently to a tough target. Some embrace it and celebrate whatever they manage to achieve towards it (in which case go for it). Others may go for it and then become despondent early if they feel they won't get there by the said date.

So, make sure you don't disappoint yourself so that you can enjoy the journey (might sound strange but it is like that in many ways) and best of luck

I lost 6 stone in 14 months. Stuck to plan and ate 15 syns per day and attended every class.30 mjns exercise daily So it can be done. I was my Mothers Matron of honour.

Stick to plan, attend all classes, and make an effort to make meals interesting, it'll be gone before you know it and you'll have tools for a lifetimes healthy eating.

That's my biggest problem! Trying to make food interesting! I have started with buying a spice rack full of spices and herbs. I am hoping to use each one at least once ;-) also, going to try some new things from my local greengrocer! (I had never heard of celeriac or purple broccoli, but it made soups yummy!)

If you stick to the plan and exercise I think you can lose a lot of weight nice and steadily.

I lost 5.5 stone for my wedding in 2011, that took me 2 years though (I went the long way round!) and then gained 5 stone back on when I fell pregnant....so was back up to 18 stone in Sept 2012!

I have now got a 14 month old little girl, and I am 3ish stone lighter - I had got to 4 stone off, but had a little blip over summer and put a stone and half back on! (was fun tho!)

So I am back on it again now - and had great losses the first two weeks, but I am struggling at the moment! having a little one is hard to fit everything in! x

I've got the same amount to lose - and it seems so daunting thinking about it in one big lump.

I don't really have a set date to lose it by, I am happy with any loss so long as it is a loss and not a gain. Although we are hopefully going to Las Vegas in January 2015 (possibly even for Xmas n new year depending on price) so if I could be close to target by then I would be over the moon. I don't wanna be the biggest of our group if you know what I mean. I have been for years, and it would be nice to be in front of a few pics instead of always the one hiding in the background. Lol

Hi Kelley,

I agree it seems daunting. So I tend not to ever really think about how much I've got to lose in one go. Take it half a stone at a time (or less than that if you need to) and set lots of mini goals. Like feeling a particular top or pair of trousers starting to feel a bit looser or hitting the 'half' a stone/getting under a stone etc. Just concentrate on your next goal and try to enjoy your food. I love your attitude that any loss is a loss - it is so easy to think 'I 'only' lost 1 lb or 0.5lb' when actually you worked hard for that lb. You will start to feel amazing long before you have lost the total amount (and that will hopefully keep you going through the tough patches). Also, try to write down somewhere the good things that happen as you start to lose (eg going into a new size, buying from a shop that you've never bought from etc) and how you felt because that will also keep you going when you feel a bit down and want to give up (because that may happen at some point). And if you do have a blip, don't feel down, we've all done it and will understand and sympathise. Just get back on it and carry on.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

Thanks Gail.

I am doing the smaller chunk thing now. I'm aiming to be in the next stone bracket by Christmas hopefully.

I know in the past I have grown too impatient by what I used to call the small losses of half or a pound. And then given up completely and gained an extra two stone!! I could kick myself because if I had stuck at it those half pound losses would have amounted to a heck of a lot of weight in the last few years! Silly really. Which is exactly why I am not gonna stress this time round.

I've been losing a bit of weight myself the last couple of years but I tend to do the lose a stone, gain half a stone. Lose a stone, gain half a stone cycle. Still I'm keeping SOME of it off at least. Lol

Just need to stop fading around now and sort myself out. X
