Extra Easy, what r u having!

So im new to slimming world! i have 3stone to lose!!!!
still not really getting the idea of extra easy? so u can have meat and potatoes, still dont get how that works?
is there a limit of meat or poatoe that u can have? and if u have a red day u can still have potatoes but how much r u allowed? any meal ideas that can help me out?

what does everyone else have???

The idea with Extra Easy is that you can have the carbs you'd normally get on Green, and the meat/fish you'd normally get on Red. The control comes in because you are advised to have 1/3 of every meal (and most snacks) as superfree fruit and vegetables. This means that you will probably naturally eat a bit less of the free foods because the superfree will fill you up.

Also you get 1 of each Healthy Extra on EE, as opposed to 2 with Red and Green.

Think the amount of potato allowed as a Healthy Extra for Red is listed in the Green/Red booklet in the starter pack if you have one of those...

Hi and Welcome!
The plans basically a mix of both Red and green on the old ones (if you've never done SW before, honestly I find it's best to forget both these plans and treat it as something completely different) If you've got an literature you basically follow the lists of free and superfree food and then use your Syns as you wish (5-15) if you don't, it might be worth scouring the net for the basic book and going from there.

Meals - there are millions, I normally add roasted veg or a salad to mine to make the superfree, or do mash with veggies. What kind of foods do you like at the moment? If you let us know I'm sure we can give you some ideas :)

Hi and Welcome!

This makes sense as long as you're not veggie/eating very little meat and fish. I found in my first few weeks I was feeling quite weak but realised I was as a veggie basically doing green without the extra Healthy Extras, which would explain the tiredness.

If you really miss your cheese/bread/cereal but don't mind cutting down on meat/carbs then Red/Green could be good options for you too.

But on the whole Extra Easy is what it says - nice and easy! Just remember that 1/3 superfree whenever you can!

I'm having an EE day today and will be eating loads - but everything is veg heavy, even though most of it is within the meal rather than separate on the plate.

Breakfast I had - a full SW fry up, with loads of mushrooms
Lunch I had - LO beef stew which was probably 85% veg! plus a couple of LO boiled potatoes
Dinner tonight will be a chicken curry, again about 85% veg, plus some plain boiled rice. Will probably also make some onion bharjis which, I think, are 0.5 syn each (need to look up on the SW website).

In addition to all this I also eat fruit in between meals.
My HEA is used in tea throughout the day and I drink black coffee as well.
My HEB today will be 1 slice of WM bread (0.5) and 2 original Ryvita (0.5)

Hope this helps you to see that you really can eat both meat and potatoes, curry & rice or stirfry and noodles without a problem.

I have to say I don't eat like this every day it's just worked out that way today!
