How to resist mince pies?!!

Think I've found my biggest slimming weakness.... mince pies. :(
I've stopped eating crisps because once I start I can't stop. But yesterday we had our work AGM and I had 2 big and 1 small mince pies, which meant 30 syns :( And today there are leftovers, so I thought I'd just have a mini one (5 syns) but that wasn't satisfying so I had a big one too (12.5 syns).
Siggggggggghhhhh.

The only way I resist them is tempering how many syns they are. I'll buy so e in for Christmas, but otherwise avoid them. Have you tried telling yourself you don't want them?

I had this last year and I had to give myself a talking to. What is more important, to partake in all of the festivities and eat and drink what I like for the whole of December and end up a lot heavier or to have some self control and say no, thank you and continue on my weight loss journey. I chose the latter option. I did use my syns on the odd mince pie/ other Xmas treats but I was in control, so by all means have 1, but only 1. It gets easier the more you only have 1/say no:) I ended up flexi sinning Xmas and new year week and ended up only 3lbs heavier which soon came off. I also enjoyed the food during Xmas more as I had limited it before hand. It felt sooooo good in January when I didn't have 8-10lb gains (yes, people in my group did) :)
Good luck and if you do end up overindulging through out December, you know you can get rid of any extra weight in January x

I make the sw ones they are only 4 syns each. Or the mini ones are often low in syn. The other thing I have discovered is baked apple and tablespoon if mincemeat can be a heb that has taken away my desire for a mince pie, for now at least!

Ooh, I'd completely forgotten this can be a heb. Thank you for the idea. I know what's for pudding now, with some low fat custard:)

I used a muller light banana and custard yogurt was scrumptious and free! Enjoy

Another member said if you buy them put them in the freezer, then they aren't quite as a handy. Then you can microwave them when you need them.

Hehe I like that idea, except that I don't have them in the house - they're in my office! Might work for someone on here though

I've managed to resist so far, am going to buy myself a box on Xmas eve and that's that. Its much easier for me as I don't work in an office and I only eat dairy free food so most mince pies are out of bounds. Really fancy one mind but I'm hoping to lose the next 3 weigh ins (3rd is on Xmas eve) then have a week off from Xmas eve :)
