    Slimming World Online

    Hi All

I've had very limited success with class attendance in the past and I'm now considering joining online. Please could people let me know how they find the online version and the actual class attendance.

I'm looking to start today as Christmas is looming and I'd like to have a little control over the next few weeks.

    Thanks in advance

    Bev

    Slimming World Online

Hi bev my friend does it online as there's no class in her area and she finds it very hard to motivate herself from it! She always says she'd much rather attend classes an i have to agree as I have given up class before and put it all back on and then gone back and lost it all again! I suppose it also depends on why your not successful with the class too! When you used to go did you stay every week or did you not like it for some reason?

I like it. The convenience is good and I get all the support I need on here. I joined some challenges to make myself accountable and it works for me

I've never been to a meeting so can't compare.

I've done it both ways and honestly I can't do it without the classes, its too easy to give in, make excuses and lie to yourself basically. I need me consultant too kick my butt when I need/deserve it but its also really nice to be recognised for when you do really well, getting slimmer of the week etc. I love the social aspect of it too, celebrating peoples birthdays, the taster sessions, moving yourself around the visuals and even sharing recipes and handy tips of where to shop for things. I absolutely love the support on here but I feel more informed because I go and stay to group every week. I lost some weight doing it at home but nothing to shout about, I've been going to group for 8 months and I have lost 5 1/2 stone! for me, that speaks for itself.x.x.

I think it completely depends on you. I did it online and had no real difficulties. I was accountable only to myself however I was lucky because I lost really quickly in the beginning and that makes it very motivating. I don't have time to go to a group and am quite comfortable not going (although I went to a group as well as doing it online for a bit in the middle and enjoyed the social/support side). I also got loads of support from minis which really helped

However, doing it online can be very tough. There will always be times when it doesn't feel great and you feel a bit demoralised etc and getting through that on your own can be really difficult. Agree with a previous poster that the group 'rewards' can also be very motivating (even when it's not you who wins !!) - more so than online awards especially if you are a slow loser.

So, take your pick. It can work either way but it's really up to you. Good luck whatever you choose.

Just re-reading this and missed that you said you've been to groups before. Just wondering did you stay for the whole group?

Hi Everyone thanks for helping. I've bitten the bullet and joined online.

When I've been to class before I normally stay but I find the whole thing too drawn out, so I thought I'd try a different tack this time and go online.

    Day 2 100% under my belt - here's to day 3.

Thanks for responding you're all so kind :-)

I am also an online member and love it!! receipes are helpful and I can log in whenever I need to. I had a gain one week which I recorded online, I could have lied but honesty is the best! It helped me motivate myself for the next week and I ended up losing 2 pounds.
