festive treats hangover

Is anyone else regretting eating all the rich food? I don't mean the guilt (altho I'm sure I'm not the only one who indulged more than was planned - or was necessary). I'm finding after 2 days of cream, sauces, xmas pud and chocs etc that my digestive system is suffering, got upset tummy and I'm bloated and lacking energy. At the risk of sounding like the follower of a cult (!) I'm a convert of the fact that eating the sw way is the healthiest way for me. So its eating low fat simple things for me today. Anyone else feeling that the treats that was so looked forward to weren't really worth it after all?

Hell yes! Plan was to restart in January however a week of eating crap has made me feel awful so back on it early today!

Meeeee - I feel awful!!! My stomach is really bloated and I just 'feel' heavier! My class was changed from Thursday to today and I couldn't make it because I was working and I feel really bad! I don't like missing class!!
I've been reading all the threads to give me motivation to get myself back on track tomorrow - I'm going to write everything down this week!! Back to basics!! X

I was really good on Christmas Day, full sun free breakfast & dinner then had a few bacardis at night
Went and stayed in a hotel last night and was off plan for lunch & dinner and boy did I suffer!!! Ended up all night with diarrhoea, have felt terrible all day. Can't wait to get back on the straight & narrow tomorrow

The upset tummy and cramps were the worst for me. Just being back on plan yesterday has made me feel much better this am (not sure if it's in my head..but placebo effect or not I feel better). Only problem now is that originally I was planning on being off plan because of family parties etc on xmas day/boxing day, being good in between and being off plan again 30th, 31st and 1st ....but now I don't want to indulge/suffer again in a couple of days time. I'll have to try and make healthier choices where I can (and take a big bag of fruit with me to fill up on) as I don't want to feel like that again. It's amazing how quickly your body gets used to a better quality diet.

Omg I can't even tell you....my boyfriend says I'm over dramatic but I thought I was dying with IBs and acid reflux. I've also had a wired headache that won't budge that I'm blaming on the sugar. I'm so bloated and I haven't been regular at all! I also went through a whole pack of gaviscon and to be honest I wasn't even that bad on the food so I agree it's coz were used to be healthy now. Bring on the slimming world plan

ACH, couldn't agree more. However we do sound like zealous converts of some cult!! It's mad that I was so looking forward to eat freely and without guilt of all the xmas goodies and yet yesterday I craved some superfree soup and fruit and yet there's enough chocolate in my house for a diabetic coma! I used to find these hard to resist but I don't want to forget how crap I felt.

I've found chocolate now gives me terrible indesgestion. Had far too much of it during this Christmas period. Its really put me off it. Which can only be a good thing.

I am to my surprise looking forward to having my sw bacon and leek risotto tomorrow after 8 days soooo off plan. I would love to say the chocolates and pastry have made me feel ill but I've adapted far too easily!

I found that overindulging this Christmas has made me feel rubbish, I had planned on getting back to sw after New Year but the heartburn, feeling slightly sick and also having the most bloated stomach has been too much. So I got back on it today and feel so much better already. I have gained 5lb over Christmas, I just hope it drops off as quickly as it went on :)

I binged just xmas evening and boxing day and at the risk of sounding absolutely gross, I ended up with two days of diarohea, bloating and the most disgusting burps (which smelled of farts to other people) and also farts that my kids said smelled so bad that they were like some kind of poisonous acid!!!

I am only recovering today and am back on my usual SW way of eating. feeling much better but lethargic and quite depressed. my guess is the sugar overload is the cause of this. I always say, never again but if it is just once a year, than, I think, I will handle it.

However, thank god to be eating healthy again.

Ooo you all sound like me lol.... Bloated, cramps, feel reaaaallly heavy tired all the time, to tell you the truth I've been eating rubbish just for the sake of it 'cos it's christmas', went to group yesterday and I've gained 3 1/2 so that serves me right lol I'm surprised it wasn't more. Just got to get back on track now and make 2014 my slimline year lol

It's really encouraging to see that I'm not tge only one who hasn't enjoyed the Xmas food as much as I was expecting to. If I never see another piece of food wrapped in pastry or breadcrumbs it'll be too soon!

Bingeater, your post made me laugh so much. I know what you mean about the awful wind. My son declared loudly that weapons of mass destruction had been located after I couldn't hold it in anymore!!

This has happened to me before! think it's when you've overloaded your stomache and the acid is coming up. It's disgusting I hope it never happens again! X

i think we just can't handle all the rubbish after our bodies are used to better things now.

I ate junk for three days over Christmas and felt awful. Terrible stomach cramps, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, headaches, to the point I couldn't think straight. I couldn't wait to get back on plan. Yesterday was my first day back to healthy eating and it was such a relief. Even this morning I still feel I am not quite over that yucky feeling but at least i am on the mend. Loads of superfree foods again today will help.

Reading the experiences of others makes me feel like I am part of a huge SW family and that I am no longer alone in my weight loss journey. It's great! With Christmas out of the way we can knuckle down and get back to the job in hand - lose this excess fat from our bodies and release the slim people trapped inside!
