    Weight loss since gallbladder removed

Im 32, n Had my gallbladder taken out 5 weeks after my 4th baby back in June.
I know I've to change my diet as my body is now learning to cope without a gallbladder, and I'm no longer breastfeeding. So I wondered if anyone else in the same boat? I find if I eat certain foods esp veg, my stomachs cramping and I'm off to the loo all day! (Sorry to much information perhaps!) and that May weight just seems to stay the same, no loss, no gain since June.
Any SW peps that have any tips since gallbladder op would be appreciated!
I start back at work next week and need to think ahead what can take for lunches that's not going to have me doubled up!

    Hi!

My sister in law had hers out a few months ago and hast lost 6 dress sizes since. She has had to stick to a strict gluten free diet to avoid the cramps but by doing so the weight is dropping off.

    Good luck x

    FYI
    Avoid unless labeled 'gluten-free'
In general, avoid the following foods unless they're labeled as gluten-free or made with corn, rice, soy or other gluten-free grain:

    Beer
    Breads
    Cakes and pies
    Candies
    Cereals
    Cookies and crackers
    Croutons
    French fries
    Gravies
    Imitation meat or seafood
    Matzo
    Pastas
    Processed luncheon meats
    Salad dressings
    Sauces, including soy sauce
    Seasoned rice mixes
Seasoned snack foods, such as potato and tortilla chips
    Self-basting poultry
    Soups and soup bases
    Vegetables in sauce
Certain grains, such as oats, can be contaminated with wheat during growing and processing stages of production. For this reason, doctors and dietitians generally recommend avoiding oats unless they are specifically labeled gluten-free.

Have you recently started SW and are now eating more fruit or, in particular, vegetables? If so, it might the fibre in these which is causing your stomach cramps; it is common in the early days of SW.

The gallbladder produces bile which is used in the digestion of fat and amino acids (as found in cheese). You should have been advised to keep to a low-fat diet, and the SW plan is ideal for this. My OH had his gallbladder removed some time ago, and the only problems he has are when he eats too much fatty stuff ie fried foods and cheese, otherwise he eats a normal diet including products containing gluten.

I would not put yourself on a gluten-free diet without checking with a health practitioner first.

No wonder she's losing weight if she's avoiding all that! Tbh though, most of the stuff you listed is pretty much junk and not really very SW anyway.
Have you asked the docs? Seems odd that the good stuff is still causing you problems?
