Hello,

I am following SW Green Plan. Originally when I signed up, I put in a similar post to this where i'd lost 3.5kg over a week and asked whether this could just be water retention and being regular, nobody really knew. I find it difficult it could be down to the calorie defecit over 5 days, although, I was eating around 4000cals a day from Oct -> end of Dec, first half from weight training/body building... the last part down to being a pig of christmas.

5 days in, I decided to get on the scales - it's a great motivator to see the pounds or kg's lowering, today I was slightly astonished to see that I've dropped 6KG, has anyone experienced any loss like this and does anyone have a good explanation for what the loss could be?

Hope everyone is getting on OK with dieting! :)

Apologies if I offend, but the weight building etc makes me think you're a bloke? In which case you will loose quickly, especially at first. I dunno why, but it's the way it is. I have considered sabotaging the OH on occasion as the weight just friggin falls of him, and I'm the one forking out all the money for group!

It is likely to be water and de-constipation. You also retain less water as you lose weight so the water loss continues as you lose weight, particularly if you started off fairly large. There are programmes online where you can find out your base metabolic rate and then how many calories a day you would need to cut down on to lose a lb.

I'm guessing with the calories for weight training you were eating meat, eggs, cheese etc.
5 days of veggies and whatnot too could see some serious losses. Especially if you've upped your water etc!
All I want to lose is another 6-7kg- what a dream to lose it in a week! :p
