    Hello newbie here

    Hi my names simon im 35 and from Manchester. At the moment I weigh 20st 4 lbs. I joined slimming world last January at around the same weight i am now and lost 3.5 stone in 4 months but then I cracked. I then went through 3 months of yo yo ing before I finally gave up and left.
    Now im right back where I started and im devastated, depression has started to creep in and I genuinely feel like crap.
    Ive started to food optimize since yesterday and im keeping a diary im trying to do slimming world but without actually joining. I intend to join but I cant afford to right now so until I financially recover from Christmas im on my own.
    Id appreciate any tips you can give me and I would welcome any tips on keeping me motivated.

    Ive already cracked. I dont know whats wrong with me I cant stop eating food that bad for me. Im really worried but yet I cant stop myself. What do I do?

    Hi Simon I chickened out out of starting group on Monday night but luckily found this group & have felt very motivated since.You know you can do this as you have done it before 3.5 stone in 4 months is amazing.I have been struggling too since having my son and putting on nearly 5 stone!! I lost 3.5 before I got pregnant (unplanned) so as much as I love him dearly Im gutted that all the weight has piled on and I have to start again but there is no time like now to start

    Hi there tamkat thanks for the reply. Im still struggling to get my head in the right place and I cant figure out why. In the past few weeks ive found myself in a few embarrassing situations caused by my weight for example I was using a metal ladder whilst working in a shop and when I climbed down off it the ladder bent and now its unusable. Explaining it to the shop manager was very embarrassing and afterwards all I could think about was what they were saying about me once id left.
    Ive been trying to do slimming world but without joining but im failing miserably so im going to join on Saturday morning and get back in the gym afterwards.

    Hi. Im not too great if im honest. I feel powerless over my eating. Im trying to think of ways to change my outlook on things but im finding it very difficult. Ice been doing the slimming world plan but I haven't actually joined due to finances. But ive decided that I am going to join a group on Saturday morning and im going to start going to the gym I know its going to be hard. Its unbelievable that 6 months ago I was running 5 miles 3 times a week. Im a long way from that right now I can tell you.

    hi simon,good luck I started yesterday doing it from home this site is excellent for everything sw related...... don't get depressed hun from now on focus on getting slimmer you can and will do it,i love eating that's my problem but I always say if I cant do sw I wont be able to do any diet take a look around this site and good luck

    I always struggle to resist the bad foods too, especially chocolate. The best thing is to try and not have any in the house if possible. You did really well before to lose 3.5 stone in 4 months! Sometimes it's hard to stay focused ( I've joined SW many times in the past) but I've only been on plan a couple of days and my low mood has gone and I feel much more energised! Try and think of how you felt when you lost that 3.5 stone and maybe put a picture of yourself on the fridge/cupboard so everytime you feel like reaching for something bad you have an incentive.
