It's all gone wrong

Iv been sticking to the plan since I started just over a week ago and been loving it. Iv mentioned before that I am type one diabetic. I don't know what happened last night but I had a low sugar and it was one where I needed a quick fix. I literally feel sick at what I ate. Half a chocolate snowman, 2 of these awful Cadbury cream egg biscuits and loads of cereal. I'm horrified at what damage I have done to my weight loss. I'm going to try to have no syns for the rest of the week and see if I still lose on Sunday. I stupidly got on the scales this morning and the two pound I lost is showing again.
Devastated. I felt sick from the chocolate too and realised after a week with no chocolate, biscuits etc I do not miss it at all.
Sorry for the moan xx

Don't be so hard on yourself. If you keep to low syns for the rest of the week, one bad day isn't going to do much harm. You'll possibly still have a loss come Sunday. The gain you're showing this morning isn't a true reflection, as it's dealing with the extra food still in your system.

DON'T PANIC.
It seems very unlikely to me that what you describe would lead to a genuine 2lb gain.
Have you counted the syns in the stuff you ate? I always try to do this even after the event. It helps with being able to predict/adjust in the future.
I have often had off-days in a week, going up to say 90 syns or more, and if I stick to plan the rest of the week and maybe cut down on syns very slightly, can still lose a lb. Maybe I'm lucky but I reckon the plan is designed to allow for a few blips, and until you get very close to target there will be a little leeway.

Please dont be hard on yourself, you had a genuine medical need. Is there anything else you can have other than chocolate? (sorry Im not that savvy)

As already said, thats not a true reflection of your weight- which is why SW doesnt promote daily/serial weighing. Stick to the plan as you were doing it, especially if you were enjoying it and you will still see a difference. This is the plan where you dont have to wear a straight jacket and restrict yourself. One of my favourite sayings from my consultant is "one bad meal does not a week ruin"

So pick your chin up, embrace the plan and throw out the biscuits ;)

Hope youre feeling better hun.x.x.

That's a great saying, worth remembering!

Thank you so everyone for your encouragement. I am literally crying. I have just had a massive argument with my boyfriend just to make today even better. Not a good Tuesday at all x

Tuesdays SUCK... they are too far away from the weekend!

Hope you feel better soon, draw a line under it all (food and fight!) and tomorrow will be better x

:bighug:
If you ever need anyone to talk to Im always around love. Silly men dont deserve the tears .x.x.x.

Hope things perk up soon for you. This is a rubbish week of the year in general I think! *hug*

This is the first chance I have had to log on.. Can't sleep so perfect opportunity really! Thank you again for such supportive comments

Day was ok slimming world wise. Stuck to it, 5 syns so not too bad. Because I have been upset I was tempted by the biscuits at work a few times. But willpower kicked in luckily.

As for argument. Basically very long story but his mum is living with us and it's very challenging. She's nice enough but two woman in a house..mummy's boy... Well you can imagine. I flipped thismorning because I took the morning off and was going to clean the house. He comes up when I am getting ready to say that his mum is up and am I still going to do the cleaning, I say yes I will just do it round her. Noooo I can't do that, I'm told I will have to wait till I get home (at 8pm after working late and going to gym) I flipped my lid and basically said I can't do it anymore and I'm looking for somewhere else to live.. So all is not great x

oh dear, sounds like a pickle to be in. Hope you manage to get things sorted (though why you cant clean around her seems a bit silly- but Ill believe that is because a man said it :p)

Well done on keeping your focus though.x.x.

I also agree what you ate doesn't sound like it would cause a 2lb gain. I'm a type 1 diabetic too and when I hypo I raid the fridge and cupboards, it's survival instinct that kicks in. Also when I first started SW I was told not to count syns for treating hypos because it's medical and not something that we can avoid no matter how tight our control is.

Chin up hun xx

One bad day doesn't make a bad week

I would plan what you will do in future to help
Like bowl of pasta for carbs and a boiled sweet or something else low synned for the sugar

Well done for resisting the biscuits. Bet you'd have felt even worse if you'd had some.
That situation sounds stupid, why can't you clean round her? Even if she's too elderly to help surely she can sit on the sofa out the way? Hope you're not the only one who ever cleans too... Hope you manage to find a solution that makes you happier.

Thank you again everyone. Sorry I always seem to be rushing around and have not yet tried the copying and pasting thing you all do!
I feel happy to know you can relate to my MIL issues. Men and their mums... He doesn't want me to move out. And yes I am the only one who does the cleaning! She takes the bin bags out, that's about it.
Type one diabetes is a real challenge at times.. It's so true that when you are low you want to raid the fridge!!! I have gradually learnt that it is more sugar then what you need to fix it but it's hard!
Iv been good today, I was running a training course and provided the guys with sandwiches, cakes, biscuits etc. I had ONE chocolate finger and I even feel a bit bad about that..

Diabetes is definitely a challenge honey. I learnt a long time ago that raiding the cupboards when hypo only leads to a raging headache and high sugar levels not long after but I still find it really hard to just have the suggested 15g carbs wait 15 minutes and test again when my brain seems to be screaming "eat, eat, eat or your going to die".

Well done on having a good day to day and chocolate fingers are only 1.5 syns (I think), well within daily syns :D x

I know exactly what you mean. It's like food is a drug and you can't stop yourself! Iv eaten chocolate, biscuits, cakes, gulped down milkshakes like there is no tomorrow at times! Ugh then you are right you wake up feeling like complete sh*te for me normally seeing all the wrappers is enough for me to go ..aaaaaaahhhh!!!
I would never not eat to fix it for a diet though. Health is way more important. Although I don't know about you but I have less hypos when doing slimming world. Plus I have a great test machine that works out how much insulin I need for me ☺️

For the first week or so I'm the opposite and hypo more often, I guess while my body adjusts to healthy eating again.

aha I have an app that use to help work out insulin doses. I've tried some of the newer meters that do it for you but I prefer my older style one that tests blood ketones as well as glucose x
