hi everyone,

newly started and wondering if there are any other people with coeliac disease who are successfully following the plan ... I know there will be and would love to be in touch with a few. Im a non red meat eater too, just to be doubly awkward!

x

I've just had a positive blood test for coeliac disease and I'm waiting for my biopsy to confirm. I have to continue with eating gluten until after the biopsy. I only had the test done as a result of recurrent miscarriages but seem to be feeling the effects if then gluten more now than ever before- mind over matter maybe?
Is GF pasta and flour the same on the plan as normal wheat? Can't seem to find any info but I had heard that the sugar content is much higher? Must ask my consultant but still don't even have a date for the bloody biopsy! How have you found the plan with being coeliac?

Hi xx sorry to hear you're heading down the gluten free path and for your losses. Message me if I can help more privately though I'm only a year in myself. I've not found any info yet so I've avoided gf stuff so far. I don't really like the bread and biscuits but I do use gf pasta and crackers so ill need to find out before I add them in.

If you do get a diagnosis two of the big firms offer free sample hampers so give me a shout and ill send you the details. Its a good way to try stuff x

I'm actually hoping that I'm coeliac as otherwise we've only a 30% chance of finding a reason for my miscarriages. So cutting out gluten is an easy thing to do if it means I'll be healthy enough to stay pregnant! lol
Not sure if I'm allowed to send pm's yet as I'm still new on here. Can't even view my profile yet :D Could you pm the details of those companies please? I assume you can't name them publicly. Thanks so much!

I know what you mean about wanting a positive diagnosis - I was tested for everything, including MS, for my nerve damage and other symptoms and it took 5 years to get to gluten being the root cause!

hopefully I've managed to message you with the info

good luck -if you know what I mean xx

Just wanted to update you. I'm officially coeliac and have been gluten free for 3 weeks and feeling so much better! I've applied for the freebies from the sites you mentioned and also sign up to the coeliac society. Thanks so much for your help a few months back ! X
