Hi everyone.
Im new to this forum and am 1 week in to the slimming world diet (5lbs down already!). Im making slimming world curry tonight and was just wondering do i need to have a 1/3rd superfee on my plate? Not sure how that would work?
Thanks for your help.

Hiya

Not all of my meals are 1/3 I just do it whenever possible !
Like you say with things like curry it's hard unless its a veg one ! :)

I'd put the superfree within the curry itself- mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, spinach etc.
Maybe some within the rice too.
I'd also make a raita style sip with fat free yogurt, mint sauce, cucumber, tomatoes, onion.
Sometimes I throw some shredded lettuce with a bit of lemon juice on the side too.
I wouldn't worry too much though.x

Here are some ideas to add superfree foods to curry:
You could make a little sambal salad which goes well with curry. Finely chop some spring onions, tomatoes and cucumber. Stir them all together with a squeeze of lemon juice or lime juice (just a tiny squeeze). Delicious sprinkled over a curry.
I love to add slices of banana or mango to a curry but maybe I'm just weird. It gives that sweet hit to counter the spices.
A salad of chopped mango, cherry tomatoes and fresh coriander leaves sprinkled with some balsamic vinegar makes a wonderful accompaniment to curry.
Or I make a curry side dish of sag aloo with onion, potato (I often substitute butternut squash) and spinach with chilli, cumin, coriander, ginger and turmeric

Like Abbey says, not all meals are 1/3 superfree. Sometimes that just doesn't work, so you can have a "pud" of fresh fruit salad.

Curry is SO easy to get your 1/3 SF, use onion and garlic to start your sauce (this is the start to most meals I make) a tin or 2 of chopped toms, mushrooms, peas, peppers, brocolli, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, any or all of these go FAB in curries. I love the ideas for little dips on the side. Squeeze some lemon over too (even pop some in the drink you're having with your curry)

I buy morrisons frozen Mediterranean veg, whack that in with chicken and tomatoes to make it more filling and get my superfree. Is fresh coriander super free too?

It is a herb so I guess so (lost my book at the moment). But it has such a strong flavour there is no way you could fill up 1/3 of a plate with it. It is only for flavour, hardly filling.

I have a big portion of cauli or sprouts with my curry, they are quite bland so covered with the curry sauce it works and fillys you up, also naturally reduces the amount of rice.
