Need some reassurance please

Hi, I'm in my first week and doing extra easy. I'm following the plan to the letter, finishing when I'm satisfied, having a third super free and drinking plenty, but I just need some reassurance that this works.

I'm not in danger of giving up, I know it may take a long time to get rid of 5stone, but I just don't see how I can eat a plate full of pulled pork, sweet potato wedges, coleslaw and salad, and have a mullerlight for pudding and still lose weight?

I'm just convinced I'm eating too much and that there will be absolutely no difference on the scales on Monday!!!

Hey Jolly I think we all feel like that especially in the first week. Your food sounds scrummy. As long as your following plan and counting your syns I'm sure you'll see a good loss. Just trust the plan :)

Just hang in there!

My friend was really sceptical in the first few weeks and lots 5lbs each week. Just keep at it and the results will show themselves. Good luck. Where did you get your recipe for the pulled pork sounds yummy!!

As others have said. It works! If you look at my recipes you will see how much food I eat and I lost 7 stone....

Thank you!! I'm not disheartened or anything, just really worried about my first weigh in tomorrow. I know It's definitely on my mind because I dreamt about it last night, although in my dream I lost 5lb this week and 2lb the next!! That would be awesomeness!!!

Pulled pork recipe is fairly high up on the recipes section. I'll go and have a look for it x

If you're following the plan to the letter and stopping when full, long-term you will lose. When people don't have a loss, usually there is something in the plan they've missed (in which case either their consultant or people on here will help set them right!), it's a 'blip' (like hormonal water retention or a reaction to a really good previous week), or they're getting very close to target, or occasionally they might even not be eating enough. The plan works!

I started Saturday and wondered exactly the same! My problem was always I wasnt eatting enough and now with SW I'm eatting more in a day then I used to in a week. I did a sneaky weigh yesterday and had lost 2lb but today gained 1lb of that back. My silly fault for weighing 1-2 days into the plan!

Have faith in the plan - you only need to take a quick look around this forum to see how many people have lost incredible amounts of weight with Slimming World. Just stick with it, and you'll soon see results for yourself x

If I hadn't seen everyone on this forum, I never would of tried Sw. Many of you have done brilliant as seen in your pictures!! :D

I am new to SW too and I ate so much in my first week and lost 8lbs! I actually think I eat more now than I did before but I eat better stuff!

Believe it or not, SW does work by calorie restriction, even though it doesn't seem like it. I use MyFitnessPal as my food diary, not as a calorie counter. But if I check back through my days, my calories are always between 1100-1500. That's with eating yesterday roast chicken dinner with yorkshires, magic pancakes and fruit, cadburys chocolate moose, homemade soup, Activia yogurt for snack etc. it works because free food is filling so as long as you follow the advice about eating when hungry and third superfree, you'll do great!

Congrats on the loss, Jolly! :) I've been lurking here and on the SW USA online website for several days now, debating over whether to join or not, and this is very encouraging to me. :)
