Just wanted to say hello to everyone! I've been yo-yoing between SW, CC and Ww since having my son last year with limited success due to me not sticking with anything long enough! I'm not going to bore everyone with the 'it's different this time' story, other than to say it is different this time!

Look forwards to chatting to you all and reaching our goals together!!

Hi, are you setting yourself mini goals to begin with or do you have a target weight in mind you want to get to? Good luck with the plan :D

Hiya!
I don't have an end target weight as such, I would like to reach 9st but I'm focusing more on how I look and feel than the numbers on the scales. My mini goals are all clothing based right now - trousers and jeans I want to get back into and then I'll take it from there!

Sounds like a great plan!! I was at target last august and have a wardrobe full of lovely clothes 3/4 of a stone heavier now, and determined to get back on track and back into my clothes,, good luck on your journey x

Thanks Karen! Good luck too!!

Measuring is a great way to see results when the scales don't often show anything. Get the tape measure out!

I've just taken a load of piccies of myself in jeans that are too tight right now as motivation and a way of measuring my progress. They're on my diary, but this one is particularly hideous! I still look pregnant! I'm going to take more in a month and I WILL look better!!

Taking a photo can be a wonderful motivational tool (note to self: must take photo!)

Please do not take offense (because I definitely do not mean any!) but, you are looking like an "apple" shape to me = puts on weight around the midriff as opposed to the hips? When you start losing weight, that tummy will be the first to shrink! But, SW being what SW is ... means that you may have a few weeks of "bloat" and "flatulence" to deal with before you notice any tummy shrinkage

Wishing you the best of luck, shedloads of focus and a successful SW journey

Oh yeah, clothes are a good indicator. I remember when I first started I would estimate that 98% of my wardrobe didn't fit. I was having to launder the same clothes over and over that did for work. I was adamant that I wasn't buying anything bigger! Now they are all too big and I am wearing 65 - 70% of my wardrobe. It is good to say I really can't wear this anymore it's too loose. I wish I had done the photos, that and the measuring, it's the one thing I really regret and always advise anyone starting out to do. Good luck :)

One word: belts

Well, until you get to goal ... then ... you can reward yourself with a whole new wardrobe :giggle:

Congratulations on your weight loss to date: amazing!

Ladies trousers don't often come with belt loops and there is only so much saggy backside I can stand looking at in the mirror when your trousers are too big. Really not a flattering look at all :D

Thank you, I am happy with what I have achieved so far, it's a great diet if you are prepared to give it time and patience, be organised, be able to remain focused and have a positive mindset (even when you've been 100% and the scales give you bad news), be honest and be realistic about your expectations and it will work! I am happy with this plan and believe me I've tried all the most popular ones. I am stunned by some of the weight losses I have seen here and the sheer willpower, determination and dedication these people have shown in getting to where they want to be. If people can lose in excess of 7, 8, 9 stone or even more, that fact alone must spur those of us with less to lose on, as clearly if you try hard enough, you can do it!

Good luck with your journey. I hope it's successful too :D

No offense taken! I've always been a pear-ish shape and always had a smaller waist compared to my hips thighs and bum. That was until I had my son and after carting around a 9lb whopper and having a c-section I feel like my stomach has well and truely given up!! I could cope with a fat bum a thighs, but a fat stomach as well has just been the final straw!! I do hope it responds quickly!

When I did Sw last time around peppermint oil capsules helped with bloating.

This is what leggings were invented for! A dieters best friend!

You've got such a positive outlook on it all. I know in the past I've expected far too much of myself and diets. One thing I'm finding with eating this way this time around is I don't need as much as I used to have previously on SW so I'm weighing my portions. I'm not having a daily calorie limit or anything, just having set portions per meal. It's not for everyone but works for me.
