    Advice Please

Wondered if anyone can help me with slimming world please!

Im doing it at home and forgotten most of it - I think its changed a bit since I last did it 10years ago !

Ive been looking at the books etc and is it right that you can eat as much fruit, veg, potatoes, pasta, fish and lean ham/chicken etc ?
So you could have chicken and pasta together ?

When I did it it was more red/green days so I thought if you have lots of pasta/rice you dont have meat ? and if you have lots of meat you dont have pasta/rice ? but it seams to be a bit different now ? SO Im a bit confused ?

    Thanks in advance Kirsty x

    Hi Kirsty,

The new plan is called EE, extra easy, because yes (your eyes are not deceiving you!) you can eat both together, on the stipulation that you include 1/3 superfree food with your meals - so you could have pasta and chicken together, but it would need to be accompanied by veggies or salad.

You can still stick to the Red/Green days as you would have done before, some values have changed but I'm certain the plans are still the same, EE's just a new plan - you can stick to whichever you find works for you.

Thankyou, so can you still eat as much as you want of the pasta & chicken as long as you had a big salad/veggies with it ? So you could have 1/3 Pasta, 1/3 Chicken. 1/3 Salad/Veg ?

Yeah pretty much, obviously same common sense still applies, stop when you're full, use portion control, don't stuff yourself silly, but yeah! As long as you have the up to date Syn values you're good to go

Great thankyou, My hubbies has about 4 stone to loose so Im trying to make it work for him and hopefully I can loose a stone in the process

Could I also ask - is smash free ? and the mugshots are they free ? Im trying to think of easy snacks for him as we both work all day and have 2 young children so when we get home at night we dont get to eat until about 7.30pm but he is always hungry when he walks in the door !

He also works travelling around in the car all day so has to eat lunch in the car! Do you have any tips for good easy lunches to eat on the move ?

Thanks so much for your help by the way x

Smash is free if made with water, the mugshots with less than 1% fat are free, the 2% are 1 Syn and the 3% are 2 Syns.

I normally say take a packed lunch, prep it beforehand, a nice salad or a protein box, now healthy but there are some low Syn crisps (space raiders are 3, skips are 4, velvet crunch are 4).

You can always make batches of stuff and freeze (great for saving time if you've got little ones or demanding jobs!) curries, pasta etc that can be heated in the microwave.
Most Mullerlights are free, and surprisingly filling! He could have a sandwich using his Healthy Extras - or if you've got a toasty maker, toast it before he leaves and it'll stay fresher than bread will during driving etc.
Boring, but fruit is great to snack on as it's superfree, so are veggies!

Hi Kirsty, welcome along. I was also going to mention about the HEX's on EE. You only get 1 of each compared to 2 on Green and Red but the flexibility of EE is great. Some people say their losses are smaller on EE but to be able to eat unlimited pasta and meat, well personally I think it's worth it! I do slimming world from home but I can recommend joining a group, even if it were only for a few weeks. This way you would get all the most up to date information. You would also be able to buy any of the books you want (they are sold at a totally overinflated price on eBay) and the other bonus is you will get access to the slimming world online site, possibly for a good month or more, allowing you the chance to look up loads of tips and recipes and syns online, which is a great help when you're starting out. I did a 6 week countdown at group and then left and used the support of this forum, but I suppose you could go for 1 week and just get all the stuff you want in one night, especially if you have done the plan in the past. Good luck with everything
