Red/green days help

This is probably a really daft question but how do you do red and green days? What can you eat on them? I’ve only ever done EE so I have no idea! I’m going to stick mainly with EE I think, but it would be good to throw a few red/green days into the mix to shake things up occasionally. I have all the info for EE but nothing about red and green. I do SW at home and don’t go to meetings so can’t really get the info there either. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks x

I do mostly green , and I have 2 each healthy extras and unlimited free and super free. Green does limit the amount of meat and fish . Red has unlimited low fat meat and fish and limits on pasta rice potatoes etc. I still have up to 15 syns. I know extra easy you must have a certain amount of super free but to be honest with green I still have probably 50% super free. This is a very basic outline by the way ! Hehe.

The best thing to do is have a look at the booklet in the starter pack as this will explain it much better than we can. There is also the SW for newbies thread in the sticky section above which will give the basics. I do green all the time and love it :)

I mix it up a bit and do all 3 days depending on what I fancy.

On green days (mainly when I fancy carbs) I substitute meat with quorn so may have a spag Bol or a chilli or a veg stir fry with noodles. Sometimes a jacket potato with beans and salad.

On red days i have salad. So, steak with salad or a hot chicken and bacon salad or a beef/pork stir fry with no noodles.

I have soups on both types of days but will vary them so green, leek and potato. Red - vegetable or tomato etc (obv no potatoes)

I rarely have EE days because I love the freedom of having 2 A's and B's but if I do then It's because I want a 'hearty' meal so I might have sw chips with BBQ pulled pork in wholemeal bun and salad. I also use the slow cooker on EE days and have stews or hotpots.

I love doing the 3 different choices - sometimes I don't even decide until my evening meal what day I'm doing. I'd definitely recommend trying green/red - it keeps things interesting! X

ive never gotten on with extra easy to be honest, im an old school red/green girl.:)

like steph ^^^ i love to have 2a's and 2 b's and after years of following the original red/green format i struggle to get to grips with EE.

im of the opinion of , if it aint broke, dont fix it! :)

quorn more than makes up for the lack of meat of green days, in fact over the years ive come to like it more than meat itself, its much better for you., and again, like steph above, if i do have a red day i will team my meat or fish with a massive salad of lettuce, toms, cucumber, peppers, beetroot, boiled eggs.

i do more green days than red purely because its more filling, for me, to have a huge jacket spud filled with beans and cheese, than a ham salad sandwich (for example) i love my carbs.

but the beauty of sw, is that there is SO much choice. if you can, have a mooch around the recipe sections and see for yourself. xx
