    Today is the day !

    As the title says - Today is the day ! - for the past few years I have totally enjoyed myself, eaten everything, drank everything, wined, dined and socialised, oh and totally pigged out the times between. No surprise that it has well and truly caught up with me, alas I now find myself 4 stones heavier than I was two years ago. So I am now older, fatter and unhealthier than I have ever been in my life. Well I woke this morning and though that is it - I have finally had enough - so today is the day !
    I have played around with Slimming World for the past 6 months but never really got into it, I have looked at other diet options but Slimming World seems by far the healthiest option. I will struggle, I will miss my takeaways and sugary treats and alcohol, but I will not miss the aches and pains, the headaches and blood sugar fluctuations and feeling old and unhealthy. It certainly wont be easy but I intend to give it my best shot and hope all you wise and lovely people will offer me support when i feel like wandering.

    Wow, what a positive attitude to start with! Welcome and all the best of luck on your new lifestyle, which you find very enjoyable, just like the old lifestyle. Only the enjoyment comes from different sources. You seem like such a positive person so my advice is don't look at what you are giving up but what you are gaining - health, fitness, wellbeing (and if you enjoy cooking then a wealth of exciting new recipes and experiments in the kitchen - it is one of the strange side effects I have discovered on my SW , that is.... how much I enjoy browsing, choosing and trying out new things).

    Good morning and thank you all for reading my post. I try to be positive and look at my long term goals. Yesterday was a slow start into it although I think it went fairly well. I joined Slimming World online as I do alternating shifts and would find difficulty attending group. I intend to do a healthy shop today and get focused. I hope you all have a good SW day and that we can support each other along the way.

    Yesterday was my first day back on plan too. I'm definitely taking a leaf out of your book and trying to think positive. It is so easy to beat ourselves up about past indiscretions and indulgences, but so much nicer to focus on the positives of what we are doing now.     fantastic attitude to it all. i am also back on it with a vengeance. lost 3 stone many years ago and that gradually crept back on and then put another 2 stone on least year when i gave up smoking. Key is preparation and having the right ingredients in to ensure you can make nice food
