    Slimming world when ill

I've had tonsillitis this week so I've found it hard sticking to the plan. I've basically not been eating enough and what I've been eating hasn't really been on plan. I'm not feeling bad about it as obvious life does get in te way sometimes but I was wondering how people find the scales that week when they have been ill. Xx

I lost 6lb the week after a nasty bug but that paled in comparison to my other half who lost 11lb after the norovirus! I think of it as a cloud with a silver lining Bear in mind though, if you do lose a lot, that it is healthy to put some of it back on over the next few weeks. I'd be somewhat worried if you carried on losing. Getting better should always come before weight loss! With tonsillitis, fat-free yogurt is a good choice, and keep up your liquids as much as you can.

Ah yes, the norovirus. Best slimming aid ever! That is, if you don't mind feeling as if you are about to die - in fact, feeling as if it would be preferable to die than to go on suffering. I don't think I have ever felt so low in my life as when I had that - at least it doesn't last long and you do have the weight loss to console you!

Seriously, being ill has all sorts of effects on your weight, and there is nothing much you can do about it. Just concentrate on getting better first, then you can get back to the plan with renewed energy. Hope you feel better soon.
