Wonder if anyone could help me, I've been on sw for 4 weeks now and I've managed to lose 10lb. I don't feel like I'm losing anything this week. Could anyone tell me maybe what I could be doing wrong?

Today I've had:

I'm on EE

B- 2 whole meal toast with butter(2.5 syns)

1x apple 1x orange 1 x banana and strawberries

L- lamb leg steak grilled in fry light, runner beans, baby corns, carrots and new potatoes

And for dinner I will be having:

Mushroom stirfry with chicken in fry light and noodles.
1 x apple 1 x orange

I'm also drinking 2 litres of water now a day. Could the water stop me losing weight? X

Why don't you "feel" like you are losing weight? The water can only help.

Are you not having any syns?

There's no way you can "feel" as if you are losing weight. The only way you can tell is by going to your weigh-in as usual. Water helps rather than hinders.

Your food for today looks fine - lots of superfree in there. And you have been doing very well so far, so stop worrying!

It's also quite common to feel bloated at the start of the diet and this feeling of 'fullness' can trick you into feeling that it's suddenly stopped working but this does resolve itself. I am sure everything will be fine once you actually get on some scales.

I usually worry I won't have lost but the onto way to find out is to go and get weighed, then at least you know and can change things if need be.

I thought I hadn't lost one week and I surprised myself with a 7lb loss! Don't worry, just wait till you weigh and see the numbers for real rather than speculating. You may be surprised.

I think the thing on sw is as you never feel hungry,

Other diets I've been chewing at the bit with feeling hungry but sw is great! I feel full after each meal and have 15syns most days!

And lose almost every week!

There is method in the sw madness hehe!

Hydration is key and I think that is where I am slipping up at the moment - if you don't remain hydrated, your system doesn't flush out properly and can hinder your weight loss and lead to disappointing results on the scales! :(

What is the science behind this? Is it simple the calorie defecit? Of does limiting one food group, so for me thats meat as I am on Green, really change the metabolic rate or something...?

I agree, this weeks aim is to drink 1.5 litres of water a day :)

All diets work on calorie deficit they just have different ways of achieving it, whether it's limiting food groups or what. Even the seemingly high fat diets of Atkins etc limit calories because fat is naturally sating and fills you up on increasingly smaller portions. That and the perimeters for WHAT you can eat are soooo narrow.

Sw simply fills you up on nutrient dense but low kcal/fat food. Lots of lean protein satisfies hunger. Carbs do the same. You generally find that your portion size decreases over time too. This is why so many people say its not a diet. It's not. Its common sense. :)
