Slimming for my children
Every time I try by the end of the day I'm off the wagon again! I'm starting to really resent myself for this.

Anyone else been in same position and got any inspirational stories? X

Hiya,

I've been like this on and off for two years losing and gaining the same 1 stone.

I finally had enough 10 days ago and started SW again.

Can I ask what is your 'reason' for falling off the wagon at the end of day? Mine was usually because I hadn't planned properly or I wanted something that meant going over plan so I would 'restart tomorrow' just so I could have it lol

Personally I'm able to stay on plan when I'm enjoying it, if it's a hard slog or Im feeling deprived it doesn't take much to send me off plan.

My suggestions that help me are

Think about why you want to lose weight

Accept that your old eating ways is ' wrong'. Personally I find accepting this helps me accept that I need to change.

Don't look at SW as a diet. It is a life time plan therfore the changes are to be permanent. I like the feeling that I'm never going to need to change my eating again but still get weight losses

Think about everything you can have on SW not the things you can't. It's easy to think I can't have this, I can't have that which is very negative and ultimately depressing. If you focus on what you can have, you already looking positive

Last one for me is accept I have a life and the SW plan can't always be followed (wouldn't it be lovely if everyone was on SW and all restaurants cooked SW meals lol) Rather than using this as an reason/excuse to come off plan and then struggle get back on. I take whats thrown at me, stay in control and pick up SW when I can. This is what "normal people" (I use the words loosely I mean people without weight issues) do, so I'm trying to follow the same attitude.

I hope this is some help :)

I spent the first part of this year failing to get back into it properly. My mind just wasn't in the right place. It took a lot of soul searching to find out the reason behind it. For me it was excepting that my body will never look like it did 6 years ago as I have given birth to my 2 wonderful daughters. Having excepted this I rejoined and wiped the slate clean. Psychologically it seems to have worked and apart from this weekend I'm back on plan.
Accepting I will have off plan days is my biggest step forward as I realise that life is still for living but I can undo the damage from 2 days off plan quickly.
The first few days back on plan were hell as I wanted to scoff chocolate but I made sure that I had planned my favourite meals and used my syns wisely. My energy levels were higher and motivation had returned by day 3. I'm now 10lbs from target and I will get there:) xx

I have, I originally was on the plan for months and lost about 3st. I ended up quitting and went back to my old ways, always saying I'm getting back on plan next week...and then the next.

7 months later and almost 2st gained, I restarted the plan properly in February and more motivated than the first time, even though I'm going it alone now, I've also just got slightly lower than what I was before I quit.

The thing that helped me was thinking about why I started, why I want to lose weight and why I always just went back to the junk and takeaways. I'm also planning now, which makes things so much easier and am taking lunch to Uni instead of walking round town wondering what the most Slimming World friendly option is.

This time I find I prefer staying on plan rather than having a takeaway but I do have a small kebab once in a while. Also, there's no point in beating yourself up about going off plan for one day, just draw a line under it and move on :D

If I feel like I'm beginning to lose motivation, I look up recipes and success stories on here or google and find that really helps too :D
