Nothing fits :(

So, I've lost almost 2 stone and a lot of my clothes are starting to get big, even my belt has run out of holes!! So, this should be a good thing, right?!
I didn't rush in to buying smaller clothes but was feeling scruffy in baggy jeans. So, the jeans and trousers I wear most are both too big so I happily ordered a size smaller, same shop, get them and they are too small!!
It's really frustrating!! I'm keeping them because they WILL fit but for now, I have clothes too big and clothes too small so feel like I look like crap whatever I wear!!
I've always hated clothes shopping, looks like enjoying it is a long way off yet :(
It's really got to me for some reason, I think I was so pleased to order smaller clothes that it was a huge let down when they were too tight.
Just needed to moan... thanks x

I know exactly how you feel & its hard :( all my old size 16 clothes fit but I haven't bought any new yet as im scared that they wont fit.Im sure it wont be much longer before you will fit into them though.Have you tried charity shop? They always have large selection of jeans etc.. just to tide you over xx

I would shop around as you will find different retailers clothes seem to fit differently. It may be worthwhile going directly to the shop and trying some stuff on to get an idea and as the weight is coming off you won't want to spend loads, so invest in some good key pieces that you can mix and match. I always think clothes with a little bit of give in them last so much longer than the fitted stuff, which immediately either looks too tight or too big. Take a friend or relative and ask them for a frank and honest opinion. I take my daughter and if it looks naff on me then she tells me so! Hope that helps :D

Definitely shop around .. I have invested in jeggings from Dorothy perkins .. Thicker than leggings but stretchy.. Hopefully they will do me till I get to target x

I second having a look in charity shops, especially for jeans and trousers. And when you get too slim for them you won't feel you have wasted money!

I look in charity shops for most things, but jeans you can't beat gap they have in between sizes and also curvy jeans for ladies with hips. I just invested in two pairs which will hopefully last me till I am at target and not in between sizes.

oh tell me about it! I just look awful no what i wear lately. clothes hanging of me but still to big for next size down :( it is so hard

Me too! I'm just 4lbs away from losing 2 stone and some of my clothes (especially trousers) are at last getting a bit loose but no way would I fit into a size down. It is VERY frustrating. Much as I like the fact that SW is definitely the best plan for me, I am still struggling after almost 3 months with missing out on the foods that I love - like half a packet of gorgonzola every other day! I loathe wholemeal bread, but I've put up with it, I don't eat yoghurt or creme fraiche so lots of the recipes are no good, I've gone without my great big dollops of double cream I used to put in sauces, I've ditched the butter and I hate not having it to cook with and I've barely touched chocolate - not even an easter egg this year - but although the weight IS coming off, it hasn't made any difference to the clothes I can wear and not one person has noticed that I have lost weight.

I do wonder if the damn struggle is worth the effort - yes, yes, I know it will be in the end! But it seems like such a long haul.

Oh ladybird it is so worth it. We will be in those smaller jeans in no time. Do you know what I have started doing? Tumble drying my jeans to shrink them! I'm like you no butter, no choc etc but yes it's hard but think of the end result. Slimming world is a great plan and it def gets results :)

Thank you all, I was having such a down day yesterday, and the daily chore of finding something half decent to wear was just extra depressing! Generally I find charity shops are lacking in 'plus' sizes - like most other shops!!

So this morning nothing else was clean so I rammed myself into the smaller jeans and actually they're not that bad!! As long as the top is loose enough to cover the belly situation I can get away with them for now, until they need washed and shrink!

I really hope I can enjoy clothes shopping one day, and go into any shop knowing they will have my size...

So glad you are feeling a bit better today. It is so hard but will be worth it in the end I can't wait to start shopping in penny's/Primark!

I've had this and STILL can't get into the size smaller from the same shop even though I bought my last pair from there 28lbs ago!! HOW does that work?!

Anyway I've started buying things from the charity shops as they are much cheaper and also have been worn so have some give to them. Saving my pennies for when I'm at target!

Also... leggings are fantastic. Very stretchy and look good with a looser top

I've always been a jeans and top kinda gal!

I know have found I am in love with denim skirts with thick tights as all my jeans hanging off but in the shops same size snug (huh?!?)

Legging and tunics have lasted better too as the weight loss means not so fitted but still hangs well/better.

I have found dotty p's a lot cheaper than I though online and you can always find discount codes online for 20-30%off and free delivery!

Oh yea the leggings are great girls and great for this nice getting warmer weather :)

Never very confident in leggings! Has to be with a top almost down to the knees! They make me self conscious, not sure I have the legs for them really. Generally my weight is from the waist down, so probably the last place to get slimmer will be the legs, seeing more difference on the top, worried my boobs are disappearing altogether!! Next shopping trip I really should go and get measured up for some new bras!!

I was about to say I'd never worn leggings until recently but realised that would be a lie... I have worn leggings before with a dress that flared a lot. This was after having my eldest and I was at a wedding... I hate the photos but that was more the dress!!

I had to get a new pair of jeans as my old ones got damaged. Bought the same style and same size from the same shop, which is the cut of jeans I've been wearing for years. But I can't do them up! So frustrating... :(

I don't look good in long tops or skinny trousers, so leggings are definitely out for me. Ended up finding a nice bootcut pair of jeans in M&S though, from their sculpt and lift range. They feel lovely, like the super soft denim that was really popular in the 90s.

I'm at the really awkward in-between sizes as well! I've found that atm comfort is a bigger issue than style so I don't fret too much if I wanna get a Tshirt in a bigger size cos I know soon enough ill be in the smaller one for sure, so stay positive cos you'll get there :)

Like someone (sorry forgotten the username to quote you lol!) already mentioned, jeggings from Dorothy Perkins have been a lifesaver for me. They're thick enough to basically be soft jeans but with the comfy elasticated band of leggings and cos they're stretchy enough going a size down isn't a problem in them! :D

I'm another one who seems to get loads of weight inbetween dress sizes - which is good when you are putting weight ON, but a bit demotivating when you're trying to lose it. I started as a large 16 / small 18, and it's only 16 weeks and almost 2 stones later that I can classify myself as a universal 16 now, but I still don't feel that I have dropped a dress size, only half of one.

However with vanity sizing now, I only use the size of something as a guide as all the shops seem to be different sizes anyway.

Well done on your weight loss.
