Jeans Sizing!

Anyone else find Jeans just rediculously sized!
I bought a pair of skinny jeans in a size 20 , because I hate anything too tight and I am a s18.
Well they hang off me and look silly so I went and bought the a similar style in the 18 and I can barely get them on.

I also bought a pair of white ones in s20, and they don't even go over my thighs!

I also have a pair of s 16 jeans that I wear and just wish that sizing would be the same in all shops and in all clothes!

I agree! I am really struggling as I seem to be I between sizes as well. The only shop I have managed to get jeans that fit are in the gap curvy range. For people with more hip and bum as they do an in between size. So they do 31 which is equivalent I think to a 13.

Ha, I have given up worrying about clothes sizing - I have stuff in my wardrobe labelled from a size 12 to a size 18, and it all fits me (and therefore is all exactly the same size!). I find Primark to be the worst culprit - I think they just shove labels on at random!

I find the best place for jeans is Dorothy Perkins, they are pretty much true to size. Agree with the comment about jeggings, they still look like jeans but are so comfy and have a bit of stretch :)

Urgh, I know how you feel. Dorothy Perkins jeans are pretty much the only ones I can wear, apart from a pair of stretchy elasticated ones I got from Asda which are SO comfy it's wrong.

The problem I always get with any other jeans, is that the waist band at the front will really dig in to me when I sit down and the bum part is never big enough so I get builders bum. Evans "made for a pear" ones used to be great but I think they have changed the sizing now and I can't find any that suit me.

Jeans are such a pain in the bum! I tend to stick with leggings, jeggings or cargo trousers.

I always buy high waisted to avoid the builders bum look. But I have two pairs of (high waisted) skinny jeans from Next. Identical apart from the colour. The blue now hang off me and have been "rested". The black used to be far too tight and now fit me nicely.

I find it really hard to shop for jeans that fit on the hips/bum and not hang off the backs of my legs. The best place I've found so far is River Island. They do a cut of jeggings called 'Molly jeggings' (if you wanted to browse online) which are made from cotton, elastane and polyester. They are ridiculously comfy!

I've never really been a fan of jeggings before, especially as they are like having a second skin and cling to my legs. However, the RI jeggings actually look like jeans with a zip and button at the top. They are my wardrobe essential to dress up or down and are true to size too. (I wear a size 12, but have jeans/jeggings in sizes 10-16 in my wardrobe).

I hope you managed to find the perfect pair or jeans x

I didn't realise you could get in between sizes, might have to have a look.. Hope they do a short leg x

Yes they do I short legged as well!

I have a size 8 pair of my jeans from next (they're a bit tight now i have to admit - I swear they are wrong sized as I'm a 12...) but I can't fit into a 12 in Topshop, and everything in topshop no matter what size causes the muffin top effect. I tend to avoid jeans and stick to leggings as they are comfier :king:

I'm so glad you said this about the Evans jeans! I've been wearing the pear cut since they came out and literally wear them until they fall apart. I just replaced my last dying pair, ordered online and the cut is completely different. Was thinking it was just me, but I can't do up the waist even though the rest fit perfectly and I'm hourglass so waist is not where I gain.

I found the sculpt slimboot style in M&S were a pretty good replacement. Everything else is just cut too low for me, I need high waisted jeans.

I hate shopping for jeans. If the waist fits then the legs are too tight if the legs fit the waist is too big.

My legs are out of proportion for the rest of me lol x

It annoys me too that even within the same shop jeans can be wildly different.

Last month I bought two pairs of jeans in Dorothy Perkins, both the same style but one was blue denim and one was black. Both size 16- the blue pair fit perfectly and the black I couldn't quite do up.

I've found the exact same thing with Evans jeans over the last year or so, they used to fit me so well!

I have to say as I'm on a budget and only half way through my weight lose. It's primark for me, it may a take awhile to sort through and get a pair but its the only way to do it. I did get a pair of jeggings in next that are great, they have a high waist and are so comfy. Great for going out etc

I've given up on sizes! I found being focused on sizes sometimes meant I'd miss out on some nice clothing. For me this was the case with Primark. I fell in love with several gorgeous jeggings but initially wouldn't buy them cos the 'size' didn't fit. So decided to ignore the size and just focus on the fit (even if it did take me up a dress size ) needless to say I ended up spending lots of money lol

I did exactly the same, but in size 18 a few years ago. The black ones were so tight I hardly wore them, but I wore the blue ones all the time, really silly, they were on the same stand, same design, same 'size', but one pair were clearly a size smaller!

I like TU at Sainsbury's, stretchy jeans, they fit really well and are really cheap (I think they were about £9 in the 25% off sale) but nice quality. Jeggings are great when you're losing weight, but mine fall down when I walk now! :)
