Stagnant and struggling

I've been doing SW since the end of August last year and I started out at a whooping 21st 0.5lb. In the first few months I was motivated and committed 100% and vowed that I'd take up some sort of exercise once if lost 2st. Which I did, I do Zumba and bokwa and bokwa tone and core between 9-11 times a week now. My fitness is sky high.

Before I knew it by February I'd lost 4st.... But everything seems to have slowed down in the loosing weight department and for the passed 10 weeks I've been stuck hovering between 17st 2lbs and 16st 9lbs this week I've lost all motivation and had curry, chocolate, biscuits, pizza and non SW chips at the week end.

My last weigh in was Wednesday 16th April I'd gained 0.5lb and decided to put in two weeks of holidays to sort myself out and get my head back in the game but it's just made things worse... I'd been 100% on plan and weighed my self at home (#obsessedwithmyscales) and I was back up to 17st dead and it all came crashing down from then....

I keep trying to tell myself it's a bump in the road and getting weighed in this Wednesday will help me draw a line under the last 3weeks but I'm leaning more towards not being able to go back due to the shame of the gain!!!

Sorry for the rant but thank a for taking the time to read my rantings lol

Well done on your loss so far. Sorry to hear you are struggling. I would suggest taking some time to write a for and against lush. Ie a list of why you want to lose wait, why you don't any obstacles etc in the way. It really helps focus your mind. Also keep going to group they will help they will have been there and wnt judge you, stay to the meeting and get their support. Good luck

Don't be ashamed Hun, it's a journey after all. I'm in a similar situation in that every time I get to this weight on a weight loss event I hit a mental barrier and almost am scared to go beneath it but I am determined to break it this time. It's hard tho, my old habits are still there and win sometimes but then I didn't get to this size by nothing!

anyway enough about me, like Jen says above you might need to refocus. Go back to your group, face the gain and go back to basics for a week. Re-read all your books, take 30 mind to plan your food, up your fluids and weigh/measure all you need to.

you have done amazingly and don't undo your fab work. I would live to have lost 4st and that is a huge amount to have lost x

That is a fantastic weight loss so far, well done! You have nothing to be ashamed about, your consultant and your group have seen hundreds of people in your position, and they will support you! Why not ask to sit through the new member talk at your next meeting? I have done that when I hit a plateau and found it very useful in refocussing my self.

There is no shame in gaining! Every person in that class, including the consultant, will have had a gain, maybe more than one, in their time. It's not what has happened that counts, it's what you do about it now.

Good luck

well done on your weightloss so far :) You have 16 weeks until the end of August which will have been a year since you started, if you get back on plan you can lose a fair bit more weight by then! Don't undo all your hard work, the weight can go on very quickly & you will regret it.goodluck you can do it :) x

Wow, look how well you have done. 4st is a great achievement and you should not lose sight of that or the fact that you are feeling much fitter and no doubt have much more energy than before. Hold on to these positive thoughts and don't focus on the negative. In the grand scheme of things your gain is tiny and easily rectified. As the others have said it's time to get back on the horse. Getting back to group and back to basics will help you. I know it's easier said than done but you do need to draw a line under everything and start over. Make sure you write everything down again so you can see if there is anywhere you had more that you thought or you can make adjustments if the plateau hits again. Good luck with everything. Lets us know how you get on :)

Try to concentrate on how well you have done and how much you've lost.
I too am in a similar situation in 3 weeks I've put on 3lbs... It's mortifying and I don't have a clue how or why it has happened I've stayed on track... Ish but no less than before and stepped up my exercise!
What I did do to get me going to the meetings is by a block so I have to be weighed as I've paid in advance! If I didn't have the block I can happily say I would of given up!
Now it's a new month of May let's all try out hardest and get back on track!

Thank you all for your encouragement... I weighed myself tonight before bed and my scales read 17st 4lbs that's nearly a 9lb gain in three weeks!!! I know it will be less in the morning it always is... But weigh in for me is Wednesday.... Not sure how I'm going to face the embarrassment at group but I will.... I've been keeping a food diary since last Wednesday but didn't fill the weekend in due to the horrendous amount of crap that I'd eaten.... What make it hard for me too is that I'm egg and dairy free and I struggle with finding snacks and constantly eat ham with either grapes, pease pudding or beet root ..... Ham make me feel sick I eat it so much lol....

Good to hear you are going back to the group.
It must be difficult being egg and dairy free what about making up a tuna, onion, pepper etc snack or even pasta or cous cous salad with loads of super free in it. Keep it in the fridge and snack on it should last a few days

Eating a lot of ham as a snack might not be a good idea. It is high in salt and could lead to water retention. Also - and this is a personal view, not shared by everyone - I wouldn't eat meat as a snack, only as part of a meal. My snacks - when I have them, which I try to do as little as possible - are normally vegetables and fruit.
