Hi All

I absoultely loath fruit and salad so really struggle with superfree. I do like vegetables and find slimming in the winter because of this easier, is anyone else out there the same and how do you cope ??????????????????

I like fruit, but I get the salad thing - but tastes do change, and it's all a matter of what you put in it! If you like veggies, make a veggie salad, it doesn't have to mean lettuce leaves - as a hater of lettuce etc I am with you on winter slimming being easier - what exactly is it that you dislike about them?

You can do things like tuna pasta salad with veggies, you don't even have to salads at all if you don't want!

I hate salads and cant much fruit due to the sugars in them but do like COOKED veg. My consultant told me you dont have to have all that superfree and she has a member that got to goal by eating NO fruit and veg. I also read on the website somewhere that it is just a recommendation.

If you're doing EE it is part of the plan, you can't really do it without, but it is a recommendation on Red and green I believe. You might lose weight with absolutely no fruit and veg, but you can't be terribly healthy - it's much quicker to incorporate things into your diet, and honestly it's not just losing weight is it? it's changing your lifestyle, nobody is going to stay healthy eating the way they did before.

I can see that filling up on superfree is difficult if you don't like fruit or salad. Is there absolutely no fruit you like? Most people develop a taste for a food if they keep trying it.

Nevertheless, you can still have plenty of cooked veg and that will keep you healthy as well as fill you up. If you don't like cooking them in hot weather, perhaps you could get those steam bags of individual servings which can be cooked in the microwave so no standing over a hot stove. Alternatively, pickled veg could be served with cold cuts etc.

Try eating veg which aren't necessarily thought of as salad veg - raw mange tout/sugar snap peas, baby corn, grated carrot/beetroot, celeriac. You might surprise yourself!

I've just realised i have this problem too.

I make a massive salad for work dont like it then come home and raid the cupboards when i get home.

I've decided to have a small bowl of vegetable soup with my meal. I love chicken mixed into beef savoury rice so it is a free meal but no superfree so going to try adding superfree soup first x

if you arent into saladdy (yes its a word..;) ) stuff, try making more of a coleslawey salad instead.

shredded cabbage, carrot, fresh beetroot, spring (or red) onions . this is delishus with sliced boiled eggs, warm sweetcorn and a splash of balsamic.

froot wise, im not a huge fan, but i always have my bananas cos they is good for me.

:p

so dont eat fruit and salad lol, there's nothing to say you have to. you like vegetables so just have them as your superfree. im vegetarian and can't think of anything worse than sitting down to a salad but I still have tonnes of superfree. it's not a problem and it's easy to use vegetables in other ways :)

If I were in your shoes I would look to try as much fruit as possible that I have never tried before. Also, try new ways of eating it, i.e. frozen grapes (much loved favourite by lots of members on this site). I wouldn't eat a blackberry normally, but cover it in a dollop of Onken fat free vanilla yogurt and I'll wolf it down. What about magic porridge with some frozen berries mixed in? Salad I hate too, but I will eat it if I put grated carrot and/or beetroot on it or some nice low fat dressing to make it more palatable. With veg I know you like it already, but again I would look at packing as much as you can into recipes you can also grate it as well and hide extra veg in things you make. This way you will easily get the 1/3rd in no probs. Hope that helps :D

great ideas here.

my kids arent fans of mushrooms or parsnips so i grate them into bolognese sauces, and have been known to mash parsnips in with the potato too.

I spent the first 38 years of my life thinking pineapple was the work of the devil, a disgusting minging rancid devil. Then a couple of years ago I was chopping some up for the kids and without thinking shoved a bit in my mouth, and what do ya know? Angels sang to me, there was a burst of song, I heard Halleluja, I saw stars, pineapple shaped stars, you get the idea? I liked it. A LOT.

So tastes can and do change, keep trying fruit, in yoghurt maybe?

Good luck :)

I am not a salad or fruit lover! I will eat lots of vegetables and some fruit but never ever eat salad.

It can be done. I have started to eat loads of things I wouldn't have touched before!

I bought a book of salads a few years back after having the epiphany it doesn't have to be a few limp lettuce leaves. It has roasted veg salads, grilled veg and cheese, bulgar wheat and other interesting grains. Probably a bit keen on olive oil for sw but entirely adaptable. Bulgar wheat with pomegranate and roasted veg is surprisingly nice.

In short, I agree, experiment!

Hi and thanks everybody for your ideas, I am in my opinion quite healthy with food coices the reason I gained weight was snacking . I dont own a microwave and have always cooked from fresh, my choc snacking is my devil lol x
I am 39 now and have a complete phobia yes phobia of fruit ha ha I have spoken with my doctor and have had blood tests and am not deficient in any vitamins whatsoever, I did lose 21lbs before on SW so it can be done , was just looking for support from other people who may share my affliction .
