Plateau

Has anyone else had a plateau on Slimming World??
I lost 4st in 25 weeks, losing every week then I put on a pound!! (Knew what I'd done wrong so I was ok if a little annoyed!) I'd done extra easy the whole time. I thought I'd mix it up a little so I did an original week. And lost 5.5lbs!!
I loved the original plan so I did another week, and put on a pound.
So I decided to mix it up again and I did 4 days of success express, plus weekend of extra easy as I had visitors, food optimised 100% and I GAINED 1/2lb!!!
Really frustrated! So this week I have cut out the diet coke (1l or so a day before.)no coffee, changed my squash as even though it was sugar free it apparently had syns!) and been to the gym 3 times (4th tomorrow morning).
My weigh in day is Monday but my scales at home haven't budged all week.
Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do?
I've seen some suggestions that having a very off plan day can kick your weight loss back into gear but that's what got me to 17.5st!! And I am not going back!!

Please help :(

Hi melonball

SW will always tell you there is no such thing as a plateau. The plan doesn't just stop working, the plan doesnt know when your at target so something isnt quite right............... I have had all of this said to me by my consultant!

I struggled for weeks with the same 0.5lb on one week off the next. I filled in an SAS log, I did SE for 6 days religiously and only lost 0.5lbs to say I was gutted was an understatement I can tell you.

I think the trick is to ........ stick to the plan. I only ever do EE never even tried the others, because I do what works for me. Maybe try an SAS log and see how you go with that? or try keeping a food diary on here so that we can see what your having, sometimes its just the little things like ..... do you honestly weigh your healthy extras or do you guesstimate, are you still having 1/3 SF with every meal, how many syns a day do you have.

I hope you manage a loss at WI - if not have a word with your consultant see if he/she can spread any light on why

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I have been doing a honest food diary for the last 4 weeks since the first gain because whenever I have lost weight in the past I stop around this weight.
I have been having most of my syns every day as I've done all along.
I have begun *********ing what I've been eating to see if I'm doing something wrong. I'm under the same user name there.
Most days I probably have 1/2 super free I have every day 1 Apple, 1 pear, big handful of grapes, raspberries and either 1/2 a mango or chunk of pineapple. Plus either fruit oats and Muller light for breakfast or leeks, onion mushrooms and spinach with egg and skinny bacon.

To be honest your body sometimes needs to catch up. I'm the same. I have a real loss loss STS (or small gain!) loss loss pattern. I have always viewed it as my body adjusting and taking a breather. There are people who consistent losses each and every week but the majority of us have blips and slows. As long as the general trend is downwards the plan is still working.

If I were you I'd simplify it. Just do ONE plan for a week, no faffing, stick to it and have your syns. Give you body a chance to settle back into a routine. Chopping and changing helps sometimes but I also find that too much of it throws my losses out a bit. I only do green as a veggie but I can be guilty of having a treat meal and then heavily cutting back on syns to take account. Whilst it sorts its self out in the long run that week always feels that it lacks structure.

Thanks. Going to stick to extra easy for a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed it'll do the trick.
My ********* is actually Helen_swplateau not melonball oops!! :)
