weekly/daily syns?

Hi all
Just wondered if anyone takes their syns as a weekly total and counts down with success? I gather most people stick to the daily guidelines but thought id ask.
Went to a BBQ yesterday and I reckon I had about 52 syns :eek:Taking into account what I've already had and averaging out what's left I can have 4 a day til wi on Thurs. Think I can manage it on green.
Anyone else do this?

If I have a blow out and go well over on my syns then I just cut down to no more than 5 a day for the rest of the week.... seems to work ok, I've been losing on average 2 to 3lb a week - lost 1 stone in 5 weeks so must be doing something right lol
 
I prefer weekly. . No stress! I have treat night and syn free most of week x

when i went to group.my consultant would supply a sheet with 105 smiley faces on it if we asked for one. then we could cross out a face per syn for that week.

it worked for me.

I usually do my syns daily, the usual 5 to 15.

If I've had a big meal/special occasion and gone over then I might either do flexisynning for that day, or just switch to weekly syns and compensate by having less syns the other days.
 
I had always done my syns daily - not carrying any spare over. But this week - a bit like you - we went to a restaurant where I had about 30 syns in total so this week like you I just deducted them from the weekly amount, decided not to use more than 10 syns a day for the rest of the week (I weigh in at home and sneaky peak tells me I haven't done any harm, looking good for a loss) so I think it will be something I do when I need to, but will usually stick with using them daily. :) Have a brilliant week. xxx
 
i eat few sins during week and keep the most for a chinese takeaway and a couple of glasses of wine at weekend. it makes you feel you are not missing out.and you can still loose the lbs.
 
I think the success of this depends upon WHEN you use them. As most have done I have done weekly and played catch up. Too many times really but it still works. If you saved them all and had a blow out towards the end of the week (by that I mean the weighing week not necessarily at the weekend) then it's less likely to work because of sheer volume of extra food and not metabolising it enough in time for WI. Guaranteed those that do it weekly balance it so the bulk is at the front end of their week.

I try to use my daily syns, but it makes more sense to spread them

I think it's a case of trial and error - you should try it and see what works for some doesn't work for others. I also agree with LTL as well, I think when you have the bulk of the syns will affect it working. If you weigh in on Monday and have a total blow out the Saturday before, it probably won't work.

interesting thoughts re when the blowout occurs- if you could call it a blowout- I had a couple of drinks and a hot beef sandwich and a few party nibbles! but with it happening on sat and WI not til thurs im hoping I can pull it back.
ive limited my syns to 4 a day and probably having 1/2 sf instead of a third.
will let you know how I get on :) x
 
I agree too

I have my syns Tuesday/Wednesday ..I weigh in Tuesday morning . Plenty time to flush any water retention away! !

I count mine on a daily basis but on a Saturday and Sunday I count up how much I didn't I eat day to day during the week and if I want to indulge a little I have the syns there to do it, I haven't actually done it yet but I'm away to Amsterdam in 3 weeks so will be indulging then I'm sure. I tend to average about 8 syns a day.
