Hi Guys, I'm new to this website but loving it already! I've read so many lovely threads with fab ideas and support for each other, it's brilliant! I have struggled with my weight for a few years now, and i had disappointed myself when in September 2013 i weighed myself at the doctors and realised i'd put on 4 stone since i left school aged 15! I am hoping to start group next wednesday, with the possibility of two different ones in surrounding villages! i may call up the advisers and speak to them (see who i like the sound of first haha!) i just really want some advice on what to expect etc, i am currently at college 3 days a week finishing my course in three weeks time, i also start work at 4 during the week, tuesday being my only evening off! will it be hard for me to stick to slimming world properly hardly being at home? i know i have to prepare and things a lot, and i think i will be fine with this. if i am not at my parents home i stay at my boyfriend's where tesco is just around the corner - i may start doing a sw friendly shop for myself to keep items at his place! any advice would be greatly appreciated, how long do you guys think it would take to lose 4 stone possibly 5 stone on slimming world? i plan to start the gym too but not sure my finances can hack it next week as i am running low on funds already! june/next payday may possibly be the day i join the gym and actually stick to going!!
thank you

Hi!! I'm a newbie too! Started sw 2 weeks ago and lost half a stoneI have never eaten so much on a diet! There are lots of things you can stock up on that are free foods.
Pasta, cold meats, fruit and veg!
Good luck and let me know how your 1st week goes :)

How quick you lose any weight will depend on how well you stick to plan. 1lb loss a week ( which is a reasonable if u stick to plan fairly well) is nearly 4 stone in a year. Your biggest tool being away from home will be to be organised. Plan your meals, bring lunch with you, batch cook meals, have constant supply of fruit. Aldi is great for keeping costs down. Gym is great if you can afford it but food is what's going to lose the weight for you. Best of luck on your weight loss journey.

Hi Danielle, I'm starting out fresh on SW today. Not really a newbie as I've been on it loads of times before and also been on this forum for a while.

As others have said, being organised is really the key to success.

thank you so much everyone :) there are loads of groups in surrounding villages around me, i'm thinking of joining the thursday 9.30am weigh in group! i may call up tomorrow or tuesday to speak to the group adviser before i attend. i shall let you know how it all goes!

i joined 29th may, lost 5.5lb in my first week, as of 12th june (second weighin) i lost another 3lb - altogether 8.5lb! i love slimming world!
